Happy World Radio Day! Let's celebrate this amazing medium and its ability to shape our world. Here are some fun facts about me😁😁😁

Of course, I'm a radio journalist; I'm often called a "sound reporter" because my primary focus is capturing and conveying sound, which is the essence of radio broadcasting. Sound freak??🀣🀣🀣

Yes, I'm a radio journalist; I need to be creative enough with my storytelling techniques since I don't have the luxury of using visuals. I rely solely on my ability to paint pictures with words and sounds. It can be hard to catch up with the world, you know🀣🀣🀣

Of course, I'm a radio journalist; I'm best known for my ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines because this is where I often produce high-quality content on the fly and in real time.

Yes, I'm a radio journalist; I'm often called a "war correspondent" because many of my radio colleagues risk their lives in conflict zones to bring accurate and timely information to our audiences.

Of course, I'm a radio Journalist, and my medium is an intimate tool, allowing me to connect with my listeners personally, creating a deep level of trust and loyalty.

Yes, I'm a radio Journalist. Improvisation is critical for my survival since radio is a live medium; unexpected things can happen, so I need to think on my feet and develop creative solutions in real time.

What's your experience been a radio Journalist?

Whether it's about engaging young people in the community, supporting Sierra Leonean women and girls across towns and villages, or raising our voice in global platforms. We've been working hard to make a positive impact on society, and our efforts have paid off. We're proud to announce that we've been awarded the 2023 MWF Reciprocal grant to partner with US professionals, girls, and young women of Sierra Leone in an amazing short-term project. This is a huge opportunity for us to reach even more young women and girls, building on the success of the 2000+ individuals we've already impacted.

We are grateful to God for this achievement. Our project proposal was selected among many others, and we couldn't have done it without our partners - One Village Alliance, IREX, and the Mandela Washington Fellow team. We want to give them a big shout-out for their support. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to serve!!!!

We will provide more details soon. Join us as we celebrate this achievement and plan for our next step

No matter who you are, you were brought into this world for a purpose. No amount of societal oppression or bad governance can change that.

Believe in yourself and start small. Remember that you have the potential to positively impact the world and achieve self-accomplishment. Don't be complacent and don't take no for an answer.

You have been created with a purpose and a plan. Trust in God's plan for you, start taking a step and find your circle. And remember, you have a whole generation waiting for you to show your strength and lead the way.

Reflections on menstrual poverty: turning shame to strength 18/04/2023

Already feeling drained and disgusted, I had to go look for water to clean myself up and wash my β€œpass pisis”, the cloth many women and girls used because pads were unaffordable and inaccessible. That experience on the third day of my first menstrual cycle; and the reaction I got from a woman about my mother’s age (which I will say more about later) was probably the most humiliating of my childhood.--Reflections on Menstrual Poverty, my first piece with Engage Salone.

Kindly click on the link below for the full article. Happy reading!

Reflections on menstrual poverty: turning shame to strength Young and naive at age 11, I started menstruating. I had no idea what to do. No one had spoken to me about menstruation as it was regarded as a shameful taboo topic. I got back from school on a hot Wednesday afternoon, tired and hungry. I was menstruating for the first time. There wasn’t […...
