Week 1 of 2024 🌴☀️🏋🏻‍♀️ This week was all about habit forming and goal setting with my clients. The reccurring theme was a better night time and morning routine. Which is one of the habits I want to improve for myself as well.

So far, I’ve been loving listening to an audiobook first thing in the morning and not touching my phone for 1 hour after I wake up. My night time routine still needs some work. 💤😴 I love that my clients and I are working toward a simlar habit!

Another goal was Dry January! It’s day 5, I’m going strong lol 😆

This month has been full of happy moments. I presented on:

🍎 The impact of exercise on Weight Loss for the employees at
🍎 Later today I’ll be at to present on Balanced Eating during the holiday season.

In the mist of all this I said goodbye to my in person clients, celebrated my move and turned 30. I managed to squeeze in some beautiful fall runs and workouts. The end of the year tends to be full of social gatherings and easy to fall off track. Reminder to give yourself grace and take some time for yourself! Pour into your cup first. See ya in the New Year 🪩 🥂🍾 It’s time for a little Instagram Hiatus, suggest you do the same if your feeling a little burnt out.

Miami food dump 🌮🍣🥂

The next 5 weeks I will be saying goodbye to friends, family and my in person training clients. Life is going to be a bit chaotic the next few weeks. Like I teach most of you it’s all about habits & balance. I’m staying consistent with my workouts, making them priority during a stressful time is the best way I manage my anxiety. As for food, it’s all about the habits of making sure I get veggies in 90% of my meals and always having lean protein and whole grains.

Snippets of my MDW weekend.
🍃I went on two runs. One on the beach and the other in the park.
🍃I had a full leg day, ate sushi and took a 3 hour nap
🍃I went venue shopping with my bestie. Unfortunately I didn’t see Milo. :(
🍃I took Monday off and ate a poke bowl
🍃 Honored my period cravings and ordered a cookie from chip city 😝

Did you know balance can look different on everyone?

My balanced diet can look a lot different then my clients, family and friends. How we eat is very unique. I personally don’t show too much of what I eat on day to day basis here because I don’t want anyone to compare what I eat to what they eat. I tend to take pictures of food that looks beautiful to me but 90% what I’m eating doesn’t look insta worthy. Not to say it’s not nutritious and delicious. My balance looks like:
✔️ Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every single day. No skipping
✔️ Fruit at breakfast everyday. Preferably Berries
✔️ 90 oz of water and max of 2 cups of coffee a day
✔️Veggies at lunch and dinner (90% of the time)
✔️ Some weeks 0 alcohol and others max 4-5 (I’ve greatly reduced my intake)
✔️ Lifting 2-3 days a week and running 1-2 days a week

I consistently follow this day in and day out. It works for me right now.. 6 months from now this may look different.

Hello 👋🏼

It’s been a while since I first introduced myself. I am Jacqueline, some call me Jackie others call me Jac. I’ve been a Personal Trainer since 2016 and a Registered Dietitian since 2022. If you know me and have worked with me you know I truly love my job. I love pushing my training clients to their limits and I love helping my nutrition clients create balance in their diet while getting to their goals.

Here are some fun facts about me:

1. I am Born and Raised in Queens, NY
2. I am Colombian & Italian (unfortunately I don’t speak Spanish or Italian ☹️)
3. I don’t eat chicken 🍗 (long story)
4. I love every single reality show out there. Can you believe VPR right now?
5. I am a homebody that likes to be outside walking during the day.
6. I grew up doing gymnastics
7. I only listen to R&B, Afrobeats, and early 2000s Hip Hop
8. Breakfast is my favorite meal
9. My friends are as close to me as family 🫶🏼
10. I consider myself bougie on a budget lol 😆
11. I am a master at making meals in under 20 minutes
12. I love Trader Joe’s but hate their produce
13. I am a runner and a lifter (current squat is 250 🙀)
14. I CANNOT spell. (I’m dyslexic)

Oh, and I take health insurance for all my nutrition services 👍🏼

Today was one of the Top 5 Best Days of my of life. The amount of love and support I felt was so immense. I had such a great time running, seeing NYC that way was surreal. Passing LIU my old stomping grounds was wild. I’m still on cloud 9 ☁️ reel coming soon 🏃🏻‍♀️

Three Meals in under 15 minutes

🍳 Eggs Benny: Put Water in a mug and drop of white vinegar. Crack an egg into water. Put plate on top of mug to cover. Microwave 60-90 sec. Drain egg on paper towel. Put over toasted English muffin with smoked salmon. Side Salad: Lemony Arugula Salad Kit

🥪Tuna Sandwich: Canned tuna with on English muffin. With side spinach artichoke dip and bell peppers.

🍣 Put Salmon & tomato’s marinated with Trader Joe’s teriyaki sauce in the oven at 425 for 15 mins. While that cooks heat up Trader Joe’s frozen rice (2mins) and heat up frozen string beans in the microwave for 5 minutes.

I spy potassium! Potatoes are rich in potassium. Why is that important?

Time after time I tell my clients to aim for at least 10k steps a day. It’s for good reason.. when you move more through out your day (in addition to exercise) You’ll have:
🚶🏻‍♀️improved feelings of fullness
🚶🏻‍♀️better weight management
🚶🏻‍♀️ reduced muscle soreness
🚶🏻‍♀️ reduced overeating
And the list can go on and on .

Radish & Avocado Toast

Did you know Radishes are a little bit more than a garnish you see on avocado toast?
Radishes are nutrient-rich full of Vitamin B’s, fiber, folate, gallic acid and potassium, and copper. They are an excellent source of ferulic acid and quercetin which possess cancer-fighting properties.

Fun Fact: I picked that raddish out of my cousin’s garden!

If you have been very low cal for a long time this is what happens to your body..

🔥Slows Metabolism: Your body begins to learn how to survive on less engery= slowing your metabolism. You may become sluggish, irritable, and fatigued. Once your stop undereating your body takes a while to recover and rev back up

💪🏼Loss of muscle: Your body needs glucose to feed your muscles & organs= You NEED CARBS to live.

🥦Nutrient Deficiencies: Eating very few calories puts you at risk for nutrient deficiency, protein malnutrition, and very dangerous electrolyte imbalances.

This typically happens when you are dipping to/below 1200 calories for women and 1500 calories for men for an extended time. However, the calories your body requires depend on s*x, age, activity level, and hormones. So for weight loss how many calories do you need to reduce? Typically 250-500 calories a day is a safe bet.
