🏠🏡🔥Flooring Conundrum😲🏠✅

The basement floor in a house we are currently rehabbing is covered in an old black adhesive left over from the prior floor.

We have been trying to determine the best option for a floor covering. Typically we cover the basement floor with an epoxy but the adhesive on the floor is flaking off somewhat and won’t allow the epoxy to cover well.

We could scrape off the adhesive but that would require a huge amount of work.

Some of our thoughts have included vinyl plank flooring, carpet squares, and linoleum to name a few.

We’ll keep you posted on what we ultimately decide and will show you the results when done.

👀 Wow! What a find! In the midst of a Lansing house remodel, we found this remarkable letter. It is written between two friends, one who appeared to live in Concord, Michigan, the other from Conneautville, Pennsylvania. It is moving and kind, the handling of English language is refreshing and full of incredibly beautiful prose. Take a minute and peruse – such a gem. Just takes your breath away, who wouldn’t want to receive a letter like this??

We are looking for more information (please help!) and possible descendants, but so far we’ve determined it was written in the late 1800’s. James Thomas Snow, a farmer, was born in Vermont in 1815, moved to Michigan at some point, married Ursula Maria, and had 7 children before passing away in 1889 in Hanover, Michigan.

Check it out and help us find more info, dates, etc, and translate the unknown words! So interesting! We never know what we might find when we do these remodels! 🤯
