From the first time I saw two Latinas dance to Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" in my middle school ESL class in SF, to studying Spanish for all four years of high school and learning about Mexican cultures in LA, to taking salsa dance classes and going to salsa clubs every weekend, to taking Zumba classes then learning to teach it, to writing "Te Quiero" which was partly in Spanish 4 years ago, to meeting my Dominican man 6 years ago in NJ and marrying into his beautiful family next year, I think I have earned the title😁

I did a lot of reflecting this weekend due to watching “Don’t Look Up”, recent news from NYC, and the ongoing pandemic. And here are a few things I took away:

-Nothing is real other than this very present moment.
-It’s important to have goals and be productive, but it’s also important to just exist and live.
-Believe in facts and root our judgment in reality.
-We are all connected in ways beyond our knowledge.
-Our actions and decisions have ripple effects.
-Be alert at all times, protect ourselves and others around us.
-Prioritize mental health.
