Quick thoughts after watching
- This movie kicks ass. Like, seriously, the reviews so far online are pretty accurate
- The acting is great, especially by the Blake siblings (Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw) and The Grabber (Ethan Hawke). McGraw in particular is a highlight of the film, dominating the screen every time she appears.
-They did a really good job of handling the source material. The original short story by Joe Hill is fantastic! This movie manages to live up to it and then some. Expanding on characters and adding scenes outside of the basement was absolutely the right move.
This is an easy one to recommend, because it is so damn good.
