Latest News. – The Constellation Project Understanding the crucial role that people with lived experience play in providing insight into decisions and solutions that directly affect their community.
Tonight our team gathered at the qut foundry to work on governance, strategic planning and our Christmas appeal 🎅!
It was so great to get in a room together instead of always talking via zoom.
We are so excited about our plans for 2023 and the possibilities for amazing collaborations. We hope you join us on this journey, supporting individuals at risk of, or experiencing homelessness ❤
The many faces of homelessness are well articulated in this article.
The long held sterotype of ”who” is a homeless person is simply inaccurate and not representative of the reality’s.
In Australia housing needs to be so much more than just an investment strategy. Housing is a basic human right !
It will take many hands, many minds and many hearts to support those impacted and to deliver real and sustainable change. we are just just one piece of the larger puzzle working together to create solutions and provide hope to those impacted by housing stress and homelessness.
This is not a new problem , This is not a problem that we couldn’t see coming. It’s beyond time to take action and to make change !
'It's humiliating': Earning $100,000 a year and being rejected — this is renting in Australia Huge crowds at inspections, bidding wars, rent increases and eviction notices. Experts say not since The Great Depression has it been this hard to rent in Australia.
Today on National Day of Giving we are all encouraged to give back and give generously to charities close to your heart!
There are many ways you and/or your organisation can support charitable organisations that help our communitys most vulnerable in Australia, such as donating to our Christmas or housing the homeless appeals, corporate partnership, volunteering or simply making a donation of physical items.
We rely solely on generous donations to provide vital support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in our community.
By supporting UPLIFT, you are helping to change the lives thousands of individuals facing homelessness across QLD in the community.
All support is greatly appreciated.
Donations can be made via our website ❤ ❤
We love this quote "Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time."
Creating change is a journey, it takes thought, persistence and resilience and it takes time. Each day is another step closer to where we want to be.
Over the past few months our team has been working diligently behind the scenes dotting all the 'I"s and crossing all the 'T's, to become registered with the Australian Charities and Non for profits Commission (ACNC).
We can now proudly say we are a registered charitable organisation with the ACNC and are also endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
Queensland Shelter is asking renters in Queensland to take a quick survey to tell them your experience of the rental market right now.
It’s vitally important that the voices of those with lived experiance are included in research, discussion and decisions.
You can share your experience anonymously and help them be better informed in their advice to government on the long-term rental space.

We're asking renters in Queensland to take a quick survey to tell us your experience of the rental market right now.
We want to hear from you, your family, friends and colleagues who are renting. Is your experience as bad as the research is telling us? Are you finding it a challenge right now or are you unable to get into the market at all?
You can share your experience anonymously and help us be better informed in our advice to government on the long-term rental space.

Creating change isn't simple. To create real change , you need to engage systems thinking, and understand all the working parts of a problem in order to come up with solutions. And sometimes that can make things seem impossible.
We are committed to the journey to change, to doing the hard work , to looking for the solutions to systematic problems.
Together we can all make a difference !
UPLIFT... What's in the name... Our Philosophy and our Mission
What's in a name ???
To us the name is very important........ we chose "UPLIFT" because it embodies our mission.
To uplift someone means to help them to have a better life, to help them feel happy and to improve their social conditions.
