Roots & Ribbons is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation on a mission to provide financial assistance to St. Mary Parish to assist local residents.
Mary Parish residents who need help with medical expenses related to breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Since 2008, Morgan City High School Lady Tiger Volleyball team has collaborated with Berwick High School, Vandebilt High School, and Central Catholic High School to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. Pretty sure Colleen heard Mayor Dragna say that if we get 500 participants for our "Puttin' on the Pink" 5k race/2 mile walk he will wear a Pink Tutu!

Registration is now open for the 2024 Puttin’ on the Pink. You can either register online or by mail or by email with Venmo. Online registration can be found at RunSignUp at: https://runsignup.com/Race/LA/Patterson/PuttinonthePink2024 , online registration will close 9/25/2024. For your convenience, paper forms can be found pinned to the top of our page, or on our website at: rootsandribbonsfoundation.org . Simply download and print as many as you need. Once fully completed, please make sure to sign and mail to us at: P.O. Box 1487, Morgan City, LA 70380 by 9/25/2024. Please feel free to share the forms.
Venmo is an option to pay fees, but you must send your completed registration form to our email address along with your Venmo payment and we will confirm receipt by email. You are not considered registered until we receive your completed form.
If you are a survivor, please note there is a pink survivor form and Survivors DO NOT PAY to participate, you must complete the form and mail and/or email to us at [email protected]. Every survivor in our database has been mailed this form. Again, please feel free to share with other Survivors.
If you are ordering a POTP race tshirt, please make sure to double check your size selection, there are Adult Small to 4XL and Youth Small to Large.
TEAMS INFORMATION: All 2023 team captains were mailed a team packet, complete with registration and team forms, to distribute to their team members. All members must complete a form individually and pay their registration fees. Individual members can also register themselves online through RunSignUp and provide their team captain with their registration confirmation. Both the registrant and Roots & Ribbons will receive a copy of the registration confirmation so we can verify all who have registered online. Team captains will fill out the team form with members names and submit their final team list at race day check in.
New for 2024
PACKET PICK UP!!! To reduce race day registration and check in lines, we are hosting a packet pick up / registration on Friday, October 4th from 5 pm. to 7 pm at Morey Park. All individuals and teams will be able to pick up their packets ahead of race day. The team captain or representative will need to bring a copy of their team form at pick up. On race day, registration and check in will begin at 2:30 pm, with the opening prayer and start of the Survivor Walk beginning at 3:45, and 2 Mile walk & 5K race line up beginning at 4 PM.
SURVIVOR HOSPITALITY TENT: There will be a tent area for Survivors to gather whether they are able to physically participate in the walk or opt to remain in the hospitality area.
MEAL: There will be no tickets or bands for the meal, we plan to have enough to feed all in attendance. We plan to cook jambalaya onsite and provide dessert and drinks for all.
RESTROOMS: There are two restrooms in the building at the back of the Park close to the river, and the City of Patterson’s Main Street Commission will provide additional port-a-lets in the park.
