Had another great drop off today in Tulsa! Something as simple as a bed can make or break the difference for a child to stay with a parent!
Hey everyone! We have been putting in double time into the community, sorry we haven't kept you up to date! Some furnishing we do keep private and not photograph for our parents privacy.
I did want to say we recently did a special furnishing for a newly single mother who tragically lost the father of her children, suddenly. We are blessed to be cold upon to help.. And it made us want to put out this PSA to our followers:
Yes, we do furnish homes for father's (hints the name đ) HOWEVER, we support Parenthood above all. Children deserve a bed to sleep in PERIOD. Please do not feel shy to ask for help. We are the type of organization that if we can, we will or we will find out how to help.
Yes, this organization was founded for primarily father's because father's are more likely to rebuild their homes and household possessions after a divorce or separation. And frankly because there are not resources to help a father's household. Above all we support children having healthy childhoods and if you are a parent who needs help.. come to us. If we don't have the answer for you we will help you find it.

đđ This Sunday we will be meeting up at Life Changes & Wellness Special Event Center Sunday at 12pm to prepare dinners for national guard soldiers, their spouses and children a to-go dinner for soldiers to bring home and enjoy with their families â¤
If you would like to volunteer PM me!
đWe are looking for people to help fill clam shells between 12pm - 4pm
đDrive out (or ride) to the National Guard armory in Chandler, OK or to Shawnee, OK at 4pm- food is passed out
Or spend the whole day with us! So something different with your kids and come get involved!

WE ARE GROWING!! With growth comes new needs and demands.
We are in need of volunteers for Furnishing Fatherhood that can volunteer their time in the Oklahoma city to Spencer area! The word is out and the demand is growing, dad's are contacting us daily!
This summer Life Changes and Wellness Special Event Center in Spencer, OK has sponsored Furnishing Fatherhood a location to store our furniture and connect with father's and families! Now we need your help, become a volunteer. Set your own hours and availability! There are multiple different areas we need volunteers, contact us to find out more!

As you know, we collect donations and use them to furnish homes for father's and their children who have to rebuild their lives after a divorce or separation.
Today has been a special day for Furnishing Fatherhood!
A family recently had to move in order to get back on their feet after attempting to have equal shared parenting and was unable to bring their belongings with them.
Brian, myself and 3 of our children loaded up our truck and their belongings and brought their items to them all the way from Oklahoma to Connecticut where they are now.
Something as simple as a child's toy box... means the absolute world. Their memories, family heirlooms and other non-replaceable's.. we forget how meaningful the little things are!
If you are in Oklahoma and could use a hand up during this difficult time!!

Fatherhood Needs Support Too
Take a step back real quick and look at all the different resources and assistance that are offered in our community. Now look at the demographics that qualify for those resources. How many are for single fathers? How many are for non-custodial parents? How many are for parents who do pay their court ordered child support and never miss their court ordered visitation? How about this one... how many are for a parent that has to rebuild their home after a ânot at faultâ divorce? You can quit trying to think of resources and places that give assistance,.... you wont find any and neither could we. However, what we did find was a way that we could make a positive impact in Oklahoma. Not just for a parent who is in need, but for a child who is innocent to the circumstances of a failed relationship. Furnishing Fatherhood was born.
Furnishing Fatherhood is a place that fatherâs can go and receive the necessary items for their homes, children and themselves. The majority of all divorces and failed relationships end with one parent keeping the home, all the belonging, the childrenâs items and the other parent has to rebuild their homes from scratch. At times we have even had fatherâs come to us with no clothes. We arenât talking about adults at this point, we are talking about parents. Adults who are responsible for providing their children with love, stability and security. When one parent canât provide those basic essentials for their child at their home that parent is in jeopardy of losing precious time with their children. Which only further hurts the child.
Furnishing Fatherhood wanted to be a solution for fatherâs who have experienced this lose and were forced to rebuild their possessions. The majority of fatherâs who have experienced a divorce or failed relationship are appointed to be the non-custodial parent. On top of now having very limited time with their children, they also have to afford a new home, all the contents inside the home, new items for their children, child support, attorneyâs fees and other monthly expenses. The majority of fatherâs find themselves at best on an air mattress in an empty apartment, only now losing time with their children because their is no resources to help them with the basic necessities of a home and meet their children's needs.
Lynda Steele started Furnishing Fatherhood in December 2018. She made a simple post on Facebook marketplace asking for donations of household items anyone was willing to part with. They would all go back to helping a non-custodial father rebuild his home and create stability and a loving home for his child. Within weeks her entire garage was filled with enough contents to fill multiple homes. Many men were donating and writing back âWow, I know exactly how that feels. Wish there was sometime like this for me when I got divorced.â âI would love to help this dad. I slept on an air mattress for months, just to make sure I could afford my children new clothes and car seats or my ex wouldnât let me have my kids.â âI would love to donate, when I met my husband he had absolutely nothing. It blows my mind, he didnât even get to keep his clothes.â. Since 2018 her garage in Oklahoma City has been full. Other parents in the state wanted to get involved and do the same thing in their communities. By the end of 2019 there where three locations, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Lawton. Furnishing Fatherhood has helped over 50 Oklahoma fathers be able to have their children come home to a safe, stabile and loving home.
