Warm greetings, Today I will be talking about black screen with a spinning dots that never seems to stop issue when you turn on a computer running windows operating system. If you ever encounter this error, note that it is caused by a windows update.

This issue is normal, if a computer is set to Auto Update, it will update without our knowledge and most times after the update, the pc will wait for a restart to sync the update. If we restart or turn of the pc at this time, when the pc starts it will sync the update before booting up. Most times this update will take a while to synchronise and in this period you will see the spinning cycles on your screen. You shouldn't interrupt it allow the pc to boot up.

However, if this restart takes longer than 1-2 hours or even 20.minutes to complete, then you can uninstall the update to get your pc working by booting your pc into Windows Recovery Environment.

Follow this steps to uninstall the update on a black screen. Turn of the pc and turn it back on, before the pc manufacturer's logo appears on the screen, turn it off again and turn it back on. Repeat this process 3 to 4 times. The Pc will boot to a blue screen.

On the Blue screen, Locate Troubleshoot, on the Troubleshoot page, Locate Advance option, on the Advance option page Locate Uninstall update and select Uninstall Latest Quality update. Follow the installation steps and the update will be uninstalled. After the installation, your pc will boot normal.

Note* Some pc will have Advance option first before Troubleshoot, in this case, select Advance option, then select Troubleshooting and select Advance option on the Troubleshoot page.

Drop a comment if this tip helps you resolve a black screen issue.
