Finally!
The company I work for has a spokesperson that writes an email to everyone in the company, every single day. This post I thought was one to share... This can apply to anything, not just a tornado.
A Week Later
When something awful happens, people almost immediately rally together and support those impacted in a very inspiring fashion. Seeing the volume and level of support for those impacted by the recent hurricane must surely give all of us hope that we can indeed come together and work together to help resolve our big challenges in life.
How magnificent to see political, professional and personal differences dissolve rather magically as neighbors help neighbors, colleagues help colleagues and people from far off places pitch in to support and help those in need. Big challenges and catastrophic events or tragedies always have an immediate need. The vast majority of people have it in their DNA to help out those in need....fast. People want to help and fix things. Sadly, but realistically, it can take many months and even years to fully recover.
My parents encouraged me to reach out to those who had experienced a major shock or tragedy a week or so AFTERward. And then to do so again repeatedly over an extended period of time. Initially, the support and comfort people receive is outstanding. But then it fades. That is simply human. All people have their own challenges and responsibilities and they need attention too.
So if you want to have a really positive impact on others tragedies, consider outreach and support over an extended period of time.
Seesters! Had the best time. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you.
