ANNOUNCING - This week's Virtual Voices Artist Showcase will feature the talents of five amazing Fayetteville, NC artists! Tune in at 7:00 PM EST on Saturday night to catch Doug Burton, Yogii (with 2 I's), Michael Daughtry, LeJuane Bowens, and Lisette featuring Justin Mackey.

Remember that our artists are dealing with the impacts of social distancing. Many of their gigs have been canceled for the foreseeable future. In times of distress, we can find solace in the arts. Let's show our support for these wonderful artists this Saturday night.

FOR ARTISTS INTERESTED IN THE SHOWCASE:

1. All you need to be featured is a solid internet connect and a we**am/ smartphone. Higher quality we**ams are obviously preferred but not necessary. Likewise, a good microphone can go a long way.

2. Solo acts are infinitely easier to feature. A solo act can be captured by a single mic without much distortion/ loss in quality. If you are a musician and you have any at-home recording equipment that you can use as your primary audio input, it will make your stream quality much better.

3. Acts featuring more than one person will absolutely need a way to measure audio inputs on their end. Again, if you have any home studio equipment, you probably already have this stuff. It should go without saying, but it would be tough for a big act to stream from a phone without some loss of audio quality. If you're a full band, and you've done live streams in the past with no audio issues, do whatever you usually do.

4. Acoustic acts are preferred! Acoustic acts with multiple people can probably stream from phones or without preamps if there is a quality mic present.

5. ORIGINAL CONTENT ONLY! We plan to stream on Facebook Live and YouTube (at least). You're all probably familiar with copyright issues on these platforms from time to time. It will be easier for everyone if you prepare original content for the showcase.

6. Poets and comedians and other non-musical acts are encouraged! You folks will have it much easier on the audio side of things.

7. I will send specific instructions to artists for a showcase when we have the bill full.

8. If you are featured, you are responsible for bringing your fans into the mix.

9. Artists will be responsible for their own virtual tip jar. When you are informed you'll be featured, send me your CashApp or Venmo information, and I'll include it in show description as well as on-screen during your performance.

10. Questions: Message Shane Wilson.
