We are so excited to see our students back on campus Thursday, January 5th! To kick off the new year, if your student attends school on January 5th and 6th, they will be entered in a drawing for great seats to see the San Antonio Spurs vs Warriors game in the Alamodome on January 13th🎉🎉

Today marks the first day of Kwanzaa, a week long celebration and time for families and communities come together to honor the ancestors, affirm the bonds between them, and to celebrate African and African American culture.

Kwanzaa is celebrated from December 26 to January 1. Each day is dedicated to the seven principles:

Umoja (Unity)
Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)
Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)
Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)
Nia (Purpose)
Kuumba (Creativity)
Imani (Faith)

November is ! The Dave Goldberg Scholars Program is an annual scholarship that provides exceptional KIPP graduates with financial support and mentorship throughout college.

Last year, Diego Ayala, from KIPP Houston High School’s Class of 2022 was the only KIPP Texas student to receive the Goldberg Scholarship! 👏🏾

Poder Family! On October 28th, we will be hosting a Halloween Dance. 🎉This is a student-only event with concessions, music and a costume contest! All students are allowed to wear costumes to school if they wish to participate (if they do not, then the students must be in school uniform).

Please note that costumes must be school appropriate and students cannot wear masks with the costumes.

We cannot wait to see all of our students dressed up! 😊
