A friendly reminder to turn your camera HORIZONTALLY more often than not when you're capturing project images and video. It makes a significant difference in the image quality when it's time to create content for your website and YouTube channel!

Here's a tip for contractors who don't have a website yet. Take BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER images of every single job. Write down some notes about how the prospect found you, why they decided to choose you over the competition, any questions they had, what products/processes/equipment you used to get the job done, a link to the customer's review (assuming you asked and they followed through), and anything else that seems noteworthy. When you do get a website, you will need information like this.

Coverings 2024: FCEF Program Students Experience Tile Industry Outside the Classroom Students from Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC), The Dalton Academy (TDA) and Atlanta Technical College, who are participating in the Basic Floor Covering Program, attended Coverings 2024 to experience the industry outside of the classroom.

Looks like the plumbers are a step ahead of the tile and stone folks!

I think this is my absolute favorite post from Coverings - The Global Tile & Stone Experience. David Arnott, mosaic artist, showed me a piece he did for Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. I asked him if he could do any Maiden album cover mosaic, which one would he pick? He said Powerslave. I included a screen cap of the album cover here. Wouldn’t that be awesome?!
