also—tried something way outside my comfort zone with this piece😬🥴 being vulnerable is good. it’s hard. but it’s good. it prompts growth + opportunities to learn. i’ve been feeling “rut-ish” in my art so i turned on some worship music + tried a style i’m not super familiar with + just enjoyed creating something... which then ended with me drawing on top of the “oil flowers” ha! old habits die hard i guess🙈

i think it’s easy to be kind to people who are in your circle + who think similarly to yourself. the challenge, for myself, comes from extending kindness when i disagree or when i allow pride to swell in my heart. praying the Lord gives me strength + reminds me to be kind + tender hearted to all around me.

“be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” ephesians4:32✨

with thanksgiving around the corner (what even😳), i hope we all take the time to examine our hearts + be loving towards every single person we encounter.

i’ve been so blown away + thankful + blessed by the orders that have already come through for the 2021 planner! thank you guys for all of the support + encouragement + excitement!

it’s an odd thing creating a planner (which to me is still a very artistic thing). there’s been a lot of vulnerability putting it out there since it’s something i’ve been working so hard on. i think with things we care deeply about there’s always that lingering thought of “man...i put who knows how many hrs into making this + it could be a totalllll flop”. that’s something i have learned (+ will continue to learn) not to hold onto + instead cling to Jesus.

while i am so glad these planners are going to be finding new homes + i know the people who have ordered so far will really enjoy them, i’m more grateful for the lessons God has been teaching me through it all + how to press in to Him, especially when insecurities flare up.

all this to say, thanks y’all 💛 Jesus is teaching me so many things through y’all + art + all glory is His.

geometric floral series “creation” is officially up in my etsy shop🥳

i’ve been thinking a lot the past few weeks of what it looks like to walk as a New Creation, in the New Self—made possible by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross + the Holy Spirit. it’s hard... there’s just no way around that.

but i rejoice knowing i don’t walk in my New Self by my own strength (lol you know when you think “i got this!” + you so don’t?🙃). but it is because of Jesus + through Jesus that i get to experience freedom from the Old Self.

as flowers + plants have seasons of growth, death, rebirth, + pruning, i can’t help but feel like we too go through such seasons.

the geometric detail was something i just couldn’t shake... it adds a fun contemporary twist to the whole floral-boho vibes + i’m so happy they came out the way they did! link in bio—enjoy them, friends!✨

it isssss what it isssss. real talk, calligraphy is so fun for me + also equally frustrating at times. but i want to be better at it so i’m making it a point to practice!

couldn’t wait to post + share (lol say hi to our half gym/half house projects garage) that my first official planner is D O N E 🥳

what a freakin’ blast this project was! to do something creative within structure is 100% my cup of tea.

i learned a lot in the midst of it all—like don’t get mad at your printer if you’re the one who bought cardstock that’s too thick (bc that’s a thing🙈) + if you’re going to cut your own paper, that’s fine! just be patient + don’t rush it.

i will be adding two 2021 planner options in my etsy shop at the end of september/beginning of october so! be on the lookout, friends!

felt so good to just draw this morning✨

fridays are the start of my weekend (in regards to my other job) + they are t h e best. just feelin’ grateful for a still morning where I can warm up my coffee an endless amount of times (think im on reheat 5?) + not rush to do all of the things before my girl wakes up. it’s for sure in these moments where the creativity seems to pour out + lemme tell ya, i am so grateful to jesus for it all.

swipe to see those little papers i’m holding🙈 when this art biz was born in late april of this year (thanks, corona = furloughed work hours), i had zero idea what was in store. fast forward only 5ish months later + i have gotten to make such fun + meaningful pieces for people i know + new friends. every piece of art that goes out is a little treasure to me... it’s something i don’t take lightly + pour many, many, many hours into (just ask my hubs🙈). i took a teeny leap of faith + decided to make + order myself some business cards bc who knows where this thing is going. sure, i have goals + dreams for this business but the main desire is that i continue to walk in obedience to my Father + share the Good News as i go, wherever i go.

thanks for being along for the ride thus far—it really blows my mind that people are willing to look at my art or shoot, even BUY it; thank you. those words won’t ever convey my true feelings but, it’ll do✨

working on some fun non-digital projects this week + it gets me pumped everyyy time! it’s definitely challenging but it’s good for my brain to think outside of the box.

speaking of non-digital items, i’m getting more pieces ready for a festival that i’ll be attending in october where you can shop my pieces in person 😍 stay tuned for more details!

the mountain/desert short series is officially available on my etsy shop🥳
these pieces were so much fun to create! when creating these, i couldn’t escape the thoughts of how God knows + sees me. read below for a little more insight to each piece, starting left to right...
“perseverance” references romans5:1-4 + anytime i would work on this print i thought about how if you climb a mountain, there’s sure to be suffering. taking that perspective + applying it to life, the same can be said. there is suffering on this side of heaven BUT GOD enables us to grow in those moments + cling to him who is our hope.
“overflow” references proverbs4:23 + the reflection component of this piece is what reminds me of this scripture. how true it is that we must tend our garden (our hearts) + be cautious of what we allow in... i think now more than ever there is such a call to be on guard + ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom + guidance, asking for growth in the fruits of the Spirit.
“stars at night” references isaiah40:26 which reminds me of the greatness of God. if he knows all of the stars by name, he absolutely knows + sees his children.

what started off as me posting my bullet journal spreads to my personal insta led to this art account which has led to so many cool business opportunities.
ever since having my daughter, sitting down to create my planner in my bullet journal has been a struuuuggle—while i long to sit down + create something beautiful i can use + look at each week, the reality is that my priorities have shifted! thus the idea to create a planner was born✨

the sickening reality of our broken world has my stomach in knots... the trafficking of children is not new news + yet it is still a huge, massively, disgusting issue for our world + our country... as uncomfortable as it is to think about, i hope we DO think about it + i pray it moves us to take action.
this has been something for my own heart that i’ve been passionate about for years while equally convicted that i haven’t been a voice for the voiceless. honestly, having a child of my own now causes this issue to hit me so so so differently... makes me wanna go “mama bear” (to keep the language appropriate) on some people + it makes me want to lay on my face before the Lord begging for His justice + mercy, + do the things i can do.

while doodling this piece i had 1timothy6:12 on my heart “fight the good fight of faith. take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
there’s a lot to unpack in that verse alone but my main takeaway tonight was specially the “fight of faith”. paul is telling timothy to relentlessly pursue faith—which we too can apply to our lives. how easy is it to lose faith? especially nowadays where the brokenness of our world seems to be more + more intense, incapable of hiding anymore. flip on the news, read that, scroll through this + idk about y’all but it’s so easy to feel disheartened.
there’s a balance to it all. if you’re only feeding yourself things of this world, you WILL feel it. keeping the faith means partnering with other believers + being intentional (especially when you really don’t wanna). y’all, how sweet it is though when your eyes are opened + you see Him moving!

funny thing about me + flowers: i know like, hardly any of them by name haha. honestly, the way i go about deciding which flowers to draw is by pictures! sometimes my eye can pick up on the details without any hesitation + other times it’s like my brain tries to think too hard + it just doesn’t work ha. trying to be more intentional with learning about flowers—their names, meanings, + (most importantly to me) how to draw them 🙃
