Cabadbaran City joins the observance of the 18-day Campaign to End VAW 202 with the theme " UNiTED For a VAW-FREE Philippines". The kick- off ceremony was participated by the City Administrator Miss Francis Denise C. Amante, NPKC members with their President PCpt. Tejanne Q. Zarzoso who also gave her keynote address, VAW Desk Persons, VAW Community volunteers, PSSG. Maridel M. Casis and Pat. Stacy Jade G. Calo, Deputy Fire Marshal FO3 Sherda T. Atup.
The city thru the CCAT-VAWC chaired by Hon Judy C. Amante recognized the contribution of partner agencies in our fight to end violence against women.
During also this time that the city awarded the following winners of the Search for MOST FUNCTIONAL VAW DESKS THAT REACHED THE IDEAL LEVEL OF FUNCTIONALITY,OUTSTANDING VAW DESK PERSONS AND TOP 5 ON VAW QUIZ:

Today, September 28, a training on Gender-sensitive Handling of Disclosure of Gender-based violence was conducted to VAW Desk Persons and VAW volunteers. The training aims to capacitate them on handling disclosure in a manner that is gender responsive and sensitive.The training includes topics basic concepts of s*x and gender, understanding gender-based violence and handling disclosure..

Orientation on RA 9208 as Amended in RA 10364 and RA 11313 otherwise known as Safe Spaces Act to Accomodation Establishment Proprietors last August 30, 2022 at OSCA building. The orientation is one of the activities initiated by the Committee on Anti-trafficking and VAWC of the city to ensure that Accomodation establishments are informed of their roles and responsibilities in the prevention and response of gender-based violence.

Our VAW Desk persons Margarita Anino of Katugasan and Eulalia Milloria of Barangay and Miss Raquel A. De la Pena while conducting advocacy to women group, Lupong Tagamayapa members and church members on Bawal Bastos Law and other relevant laws.
The advocacy is one of the regular activities of the VAW Desk Persons every quarter. They are not only oriented on salient features of different women and children protection laws but also on on how they conduct advocacy.
Cabadbaran City always believed that together we can break the culture of silence and together we can end violence against women and children.

The 18-day Campaign To End Violence Against Women ends today, December 12, 2021. The highlights of the Campaign for Cabadbaran City are the following:

1. Awarding of Most Functional Vaw desks and Outstanding VAW Desk Persons of which winners received cash prizes and plaques
2.Coaching on RA 11313, RA 9262, RA 9208 AND RA 7610 to VAW Desks and VAW Volunteers on their advocacy activity in their barangays.
3. Skills training on Rug Making for VAW victim-survivors
4. Posting of Advocacy tarpaulins on RA 11313 and Safe Touches in 31 barangays and other public places.

These activities wont be made possible without the untiring support of Mayor Judy C. Amante and the City Councilors headed by Vice Mayor Rey G. Jamboy and of course the NPKC with PLt.Tejanne Q. Zarzoso, the Fed.President and the PNP-WCPD with PSSg Roselie B. Cailing.

The campaign end with our pledge to provide Cabadbaran City a livable city,free from all forms of gender-based violence against women and children.

Cabadbaran City is one with nation in the conduct of 18-day Campaign to END VAW from November 25-Dec.12. Series of activities were conducted in consonance to the celebration. Today, the following were awarded with plaque and cash:

In the photos are the representatives from different agencies and offices such Wcpd Cabadbaran, Cabadbaran District Hospital, City Health Office, City Prosecutor's Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Zion Christian Mission Inc., who attended the Participatory Mapping of Resources and Services for the VAWC and other related victims today September 14, 2021 at OSCA Function Hall. The activity aims to gather each agency's/office's services for the victim-survivors including the requirements for referrals. Other agencies such as CDRRMO, TESDA and PAO are also part of the participatory mapping. The Directory of Resources/Services will be used for the unified referral system of Violence Against Women.
The workshop was facilitated by the Cabadbaran City Committee on Anti-trafficking and VAWC chaired by our City Mayor Hon. Judy C. Amante.

Cabadbaran City achieved the Ideal level of Local Committee on Anti-trafficking in Person and VAWC (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality during the assessment conducted by the PCAT-VAWC represented by Miss Paredes of PSWDO and Mr. Balansag of DILG Provincial Office on August 27, 2021. The LCAT-VAWC is chaired by Mayor Judy C. Amante who prudently ensure efficient and effective delivery of social services to the disadvantaged and victims of any forms of abuse.
The 4 areas assessed were 1. Meetings 2. Organization 3. Policies, Plans and Budget 4. Accomplishment.

Today July 30,2021,the RIACAT-VAWC conducted an activity in celebration of the World Day Against Trafficking (WDAT)dubbed as "CARAGA PANAGTAPOK: A consultation dialogue on policies related to Trafficking in Person (TIP) and Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSEC). Cabadbaran City with the leadership of Hon. Judy C. Amante ,represented by Hon.Joan A. Monding, SP on Social Services was one of the few chosen to share the good practices and initiatives if the LGU in combatting Human Trafficking and Online Child Sexual Abuse.

CABADBARAN CITY is set to conduct series of activities for this year and next year as discussed during the Second Quarter Joint meeting of the GAD Focal Point System and Committee on Anti-trafficking on July 13,2021 held at Alsons Restaurant, Barangay 4.
Mayor Judy C. Amante as the chairperson of both structures presided the meeting. The 25 attendees were the primary and representative of the committees.
The meeting was also graced by the very supportive CLGOO concurrent Annabella "Babes" O. Cadigal who gave the committees an orientation on LCAT-VAWC Monitoring Tool for the evaluation comes August 2021.

Yesterday May 6, 2021 was the final assessment of Urban Container Garden contest participated by Nagkahiusang Pundok sa Kababayen-an sa Cabadbaran (NPKC) members. Each barangay was required to have 10 groups to join the contest with at least 10 vegetables. Top 3 barangays such as Mabini, Antonio Luna and Barangay 3 were assessed.

The contest is a sequel of the Urban Container Gardening training facilitated by NPKC thru the leadership of PLt Tejanne Q. Zarzoso few years back. The UCG as one of the priority projects of the organization was realized thru the support of the City Government headed by City Mayor Judy C. Amante. It is believed that amidst the pandemic, UCG will surely help households whose economic status have been severly affected by the pandemic.

The winner/s will receive cash prize.

An Orientation on Ra 10175 otherwise known as "Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 "was conducted during the quarterly meeting of VAW Desk Persons Organization this morning.
The orientation highlights the detection cybercrimes targeting women and children specially along Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC).
The orientation was attended by 25 VAW desk persona and CSWD office staff.

"Ang mabuhat sa mga lalaki, mabuhat natong mga babaye", the City Mayor as she delivered her speech today during the recently concluded Women's day 2021 with the theme: Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya! She also shared her personal struggles being a woman and a mother and how she was able to surpass all of it. She challenged every woman to be responsible and to be reminded always that God has a plan for everyone.

Other guests were WCPD of Cabadbaran city and Hon. Joan A. Monding, chairperson on Social Services. Hon. Monding also shared her future legislations for the women organization including the livelihood programs for them.
The celebration was spearheaded by NPKC with their Federation president PLt Tejanne Q. Zarzoso. Part of the activity also were orientation of RA 11313 otherwise known as Safe Spaces Act and COVID-19 protocols and vaccination plan.

"I have learned a lot and i like what you are doing", said by one of the proprietors during the monitoring conducted by the Anti-trafficking in Persons and VAWC task force of Cabadbaran City today March 17, 2021.
The monitoring is one of the functions of the task force to ensure that Women, children, PWD and elderly friendly structures are being established as mandated by the law. Along with it is checking if these establishments have protocols and preventive mechanisms in addressing human trafficking (RA 9208 as amended in RA 10364, Anti Child Po*******hy and safe spaces act. The team also emphasized the importance of knowing the provisions for them to know how to improve their operations.

A total of 17 accomodation establishments were monitored. Series of orientations will follow within this year.

The 2 teams were composed of PNP, NPKC(women org), CSWD, CHO, CTCAO, BPLO and SPO.
