🙋‍♀️ this was me 2 years ago and shortly after I officially shared with the world. It was scary! But immensely exciting. Up to now, I’ve poured a HUGE amount into creating it, always with my main ambition being to help everyone live more sustainably. Over the last 2 years, I’ve gone live with the marketplace, worked with some incredible people, had a letter from Prince Charles saying how much he loved it, had mentoring support from Tesco and ASOS, spoken at numerous events, met and interviewed some of my hero’s, installed my pop up shop in 8 locations across the UK including the prestigious Women of the World festival and studied with and . I did all this while working full time which was no easy feat!
—————————————————
At present, I feel deeply saddened by the state of the environment and while I adore running the marketplace, I have decided to take it offline indefinitely. Change needs to happen imminently and it needs to come from all of us, not select individuals. Up to now, my spare time is spent driving the marketplace forward, planning pop-ups and sourcing new sellers but this simply doesn’t have enough impact. My current efforts don’t make up for the average person who still buys plastic bottles, drives everywhere, eats meat everyday and sporadically recycles. For this reason, I want to use the spare time I do have to support people to make small changes because ultimately, that is what will make a difference. I’ll be doing this through social media, continuing to speak at events and going into schools and workplaces to hold ‘Plastic Footprint’ workshops. The marketplace may come back again in future so watch this space! If you’re interested in chatting to me some more then get in touch 🤗 thanks for all the support over the last 2 years! 💚💙💛

Welcome, 2019! Have you seen this genius campaign from National Geographic? Resolutions or not, this is the year that we need to assess, analyse and reflect on our own lifestyles and implement strategies to make effective change. We need to support our friends and family to make changes in their lives too. Below are my 3 top tips for getting started. These are easy adjustments that will make a HUGE impact!
* Stop buying plastic water bottles and invest in a S'well Bottle
* Buy organic soap bars rather than plastic pumps or shower gels.
* Get organised! Carry reusable bags with you or leave them in your car.
Easy! 💚

When David Attenborough speaks, you listen. We owe so much to this wonderful man who managed to engage the UK enough with Blue Planet 2 last year that Theresa May listened and made even credited the documentary in parliament when addressing climate change action. Today, Attenborough has spoken at the UN in attempt to engage world leaders in the same way. The UN has also launched the campaign which is totally awesome as absolutely anyone can get involved by simply sharing what you are doing, how you are living and encouraging others to live greener. The reality is that our gorgeous planet of greens and blues will survive whatever we do, though it might not be so colourful or vibrant when we’re finished with it if we carry on with our current trajectory. However, us as species have no chance if we don’t . Please think about it and make adjustments to your life. I am certainly no oracle but I sure as heck will help, support and advice anyone who needs tips on living greener!

Today I purchased my reusable coffee cup from and I can’t praise them highly enough for this initiative. The supermarket state that is will save them 52 million cups a year. Imagine the impact if other coffee shops joined them on this shift away from single use plastic.
2.5 billion coffee cups are thrown away annually in the UK, almost none of which are recycled because of their plastic lining.
Disposable cups will be removed from all Waitrose stores by the autumn which is blooming awesome!
Members of its loyalty scheme will still be able to get free tea or coffee from self-service machines but must use their own reusable cup. Amazing! 💚

is one of my favourite things on the planet and there are numerous plastic-free focused stories in the latest edition such as this one. James Longcroft is on a mission to lessen the 8 billion tonnes of plastic waste going in our oceans each year and with plastic bottles being a primary contributor, this initiative is genius! Go and follow , everyone needs to get behind this one! 🐟💙🐠

I had the pleasure of meeting .life at the .green event earlier on this year. They make sustainable sunglasses and watches whilst holding environmental issues at the forefront of their brand at all times. They have a mission to use an alternative to plastic in lenses by 2020 which is pretty awesome! I interviewed them recently and the blog has just gone up. Link in bio, happy reading! 😎😎😎

Everything is original, one off, handmade, real recycled leather pieces so head to their page to grab a bargain. I’m sure they’ll be back soon working on another inspiring project so thank you for everything and good luck guys! ✨💚✨

Did you know are the first tea supplier to go plastic free? Facts below ⬇️
🍃
* Their tea temples are biodegradable
* The clear inner bags within the packaging are compostable and made from wood pulp
* The cardboard packaging is recycled
* Printed with vegetable ink
🍃
These are just some of the awesome initiatives Tea Pigs are using. I’m going to blog about it this weekend to go into more detail about their ‘plastic free trust mark’, charity work, ethical partnerships and sponsorship of schools and universities. I love tea at the best of times but this tea never tasted so good ☺️ thank you for the package 💖

Amazing steps in the right direction 🤗 thanks for bringing this to my attention The Happy Newspaper 💖

Last year Adidas launched three new versions of its UltraBoost shoe, which are made out of plastic intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the ocean. The company teamed up with environmental initiative Parley for the Oceans, a US organisation which works to protect ocean wildlife and stop plastic waste, to create the shoe.Adidas recently announced that one million shoes have been sold worldwide, and each pair of shoes reuses 11 plastic bottles!
