Whilst we are filled with sadness following the murder of Ashling Murphy, it has reignited a fire in our bellies to raise more money for the astounding services that support victims of domestic violence in all its forms.

A few words from Sara:

‘Éadach ‘The Dreamer’ is ’s tribute to early 20th century Belfast.. to the Millies, the incredibly skilled women whose beautiful work contributed so much to the prosperity of the city. And a homage to the elegant art deco architecture and city life of the time. A print for workers and dreamers.

CW: intimate partner abuse, violence, sexual violence, abuse

Women's Aid have seen almost 30,000 people contact them for their services in the past year, that's an increase of 43%. Covid restrictions and lockdowns have exacerbated the instance of violence against women.

https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2021/0622/1229591-domestic-violence-support/

This shadow pandemic of violence against women is an issue that ROSA raised in March of this year by holding a small, socially distanced protest. As a result, one of our local activists has received a fine of €500 from Gardaí for highlighting this issue and stewards at a Dublin protest have received lesser fines. Meanwhile, thousands of calls relating to intimate partner violence have gone unanswered by Gardaí!

ROSA will be challenging these fines and calling on Gardaí to prosecute perpetrators of domestic violence rather than those who are safely and responsibly highlighting the issue.

If you would like to donate towards our legal fund you can do so here: paypal.me/ROSAIreland

If you would like to sign our petition to call on the state to withdraw the fines you can do so here:
