Sure, EGP is the *perfect* curriculum for incorporating student-led projects in the classroom...

So many topics for students, so many instructional options for teachers, so many POSSIBILITIES for learning + impact!

Yet somehow...even for the most well-intending teachers...those nagging feelings come creepin' in despite:

Is there time?
Will it work?
Where do I start?
Can I even pull this off?!?!

In this quick-ref teacher tool, we take a look at the most common CONCERNS teachers have about incorporating student-led projects in the EGP classroom...and we put those to shame with some action-driven steps to take instead!

Just because an exam looms at the end of your school year *doesn't* mean your students aren't meant to sit at the center of this curriculum despite it...

(REMEMBER: is this about us? or is this about them?!)

The safe bet in teaching EGP is to teach in a way that directly transfers to the scenario students will ultimately face when they sit for their exams.

But this is exactly how we lose sight of what's actually supposed to transfer...the genuine, durable skills. Not the test procedure!

So tonight, we're talking about how to bust past the superficial stuff and into the supreme learning experiences our students both crave and deserve...

…tonight, we're talking about the role student-led projects can play in teaching EGP, and specifically, during semester exam season!

Tune in LIVE at 6pm ET!

Score! You just got your hands on the Cambridge-approved coursebook for teaching EGP!

Now what?!

Classroom textbooks, course-books, and other instructional publications can be both a blessing and a curse for the teachers who wield them. Lots of great potential lie in their pages, but without a proper plan for implementing, a core resource like this can easily go to waste.

To ensure that doesn't happen to you, I'm sharing 4 Strategic Ways to Use Your EGP Coursebook specifically (or any, other textbook you've got on hand for teaching EGP, too!).

Tune in today for this special, expert-series livestream!

Collaborating with other educators *sounds* like a dream-team.

But if you're a teacher, you know...

For one reason or another, our fellow colleagues aren't always keen to share their resources, am-I-right?!

And as a result, YOU get stuck spending hours digging for quality resources + vetting them, plus even more time adapting this mish-mosh of materials to actually ~fit~ the high aims of EGP 🫠...

Well the good news is...

Non-hoarding help is on the way!

During tonight's livestream, I'm sharing 5 (FREE!) teaching resources that are a *custom-fit* for your EGP classroom!

From foundational writing activities to advanced tactics in teaching critical thinking; and from professional development tools to student-centered ones, I'm sharing all I've got in the way of free (as in free, free!) resources!

Don't miss me LIVE, right here + tonight, ET!

There's plenty of schoolhouse static to go around 🗣️ at the top of the week, right?!

Sunday Scaries have you all like:
👻 What should I be doing?
👻 In what order?
👻 What makes the most sense?

And the biggest 👹 of all:
👻 How do I know it will all work?!

Well consider this your more mentally-stable, Monday reminder 🤪...

When you feel pressed from all angles to say or do the 'right' thing with your students today...

Just breathe and *know* that your presence ✨, your passion ❤️‍🔥, and your willingness to put your learners first ☝️is what matters MOST.

Sometimes Teaching EGP can feel like having to teach all. the. things. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Not only do we need to drill down into syllabus specifics, but we've got to come up for air once in a while to make sure we hit district + state targets, too!

In this livestream, I'm sharing a simple strategy I use to line up my EGP objectives with the other standards I'm obligated to teach as well.

Check it out, and share your wins in the comments once you start implementing!

Just because formal academic writing is expected on the end-of-year exam *doesn’t mean* it should be the sole avenue we select for developing our students’ critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

During today’s livestream, I’m sharing 3 solid strategies that will make your instruction more equitable and accessible for your learners, along with my best-kept secret for ensuring student growth this school year.

(And PS…if you like what we cover here, you’re going to love what we’re talking about inside our Fall Planning Challenge - a FREE PD event exclusively for EGP teachers!)

Stop doing lame, first-day 🥶 icebreakers 🥶 with your students! Info sheets and name jingles are fine if you're looking for fluff + filler while your roster straightens out, but then again, why waste precious time?!

Every 👏 student 👏 (whether they stick around in your class or not) deserves to be seen and feel valued. Set that tone from Day 1 and your students will never forget it!

In this episode, I'm sharing 7 ways to *genuinely* get to know your students - use these Day 1, Week 1, or Quarter 1 of your school year!

Join me September 13 ET right here on our FB Page!

Annnd...cut 🎥! We just wrapped up the Welcome video for our Fall EGP Planning Challenge, whew!

As of this evening, it'll be the first thing you'll see inside your digital, Challenge dashboard once you sign up — so yeah, if you're already enrolled, official, Welcome wagon email coming soon 👋!

(Speaking of which...ARE YOU? ENROLLED? My friend?!)

When it comes to our 'why' for launching this Challenge, it comes down to this...

And OMG — this next statement is BIG —

⚠️ Just because an exam looms at the end of your year, doesn’t mean it sits at the *center * of your instruction. ⚠️

(Seriously...let that sink IN!)

Meanwhile: you know who ~does~ deserve to be in that center?
Our students, duh! 😜

So here's the deal...

During our Challenge (Sept. 19-23), I'm making darn-sure you don’t just *look good* teaching this course...

That’s confidence.

I'm making sure you *feel good* while teaching it, too...i.e. that every instructional decision you make is in alignment with the greater vision you have for your learners.

*That’s* intention.

In fact, this upcoming week, we'll put some things into perspective that will ✨fundamentally change✨ the way you see your approach to Teaching EGP, and you’ll take actions that will expand your entire mental model for what’s possible in education 🤭.

(Again...OMGeeee, this is the kind of PD you have yet to see when it comes to Teaching EGP!)

I can't wait to work alongside you inside this Challenge -- but
you've got to get IN on the PD goodness first!

Go to teachingEGP.com to learn more + join today...it's FREE!

(Free? Free? YES! Free, free!)

I'll see you on the inside real soon — we kick off officially on Monday, Sept. 19!

In Service + Support,

Jill :-)
