Me - I don’t know, why do you ask?

Geist Upper Fall Creek
Watershed Alliance Charter

Vision: The Geist Upper Fall Creek Watershed Alliance, the Alliance, mission is to preserve, protect, and enhance the watershed by utilizing and managing natural resources sustainably through a unified group of private citizens, public groups, businesses, and government agencies to create measurable improvements to water quality and the environment through outreach, education, and stewardship in a collaborative effort.

About: With the support of our partners, the Alliance will begin by utilizing the Watershed Management Plan, WMP, created in 2011, to address concerns of environmental impacts within the Watershed. The WMP identified critical areas and created and action register and schedule for the protection and enhancement of the environment and quality of the Watershed.

The Alliance recognizes that what happens in the watershed, makes its way to the Reservoir, and further downstream to the White River. The Alliance will collaborate with partners to make a positive effect on the Reservoir and Watershed as a wholistic environment, ensuring the health and longevity of this resource, and the habitat it provides with measurable impact. The ability for future generations to enjoy this natural habitat and be an important part of our community is of the upmost importance to us in our efforts. The Alliance believes in total transparency, united efforts, and all who wish to participate will have the ability to contribute and their input valued.

Geography: Geist Reservoir and the Upper Fall Creek Watershed lie within the Upper White River Watershed boundary, Figure A. The Watershed stretches from northwest Henry County and flows southwest through Madison, Hamilton, and Marion Counties, also encompassing portions of Delaware and Hancock Counties.
