Steve the South Carolina Golden Retriever

Hi Everyone, it’s been a while since Steve has posted. I’m sad to leave this here but it’s been nice looking back on Steve’s adventures. She was a crazy dog but everyone that met her fell in love with her ❤️❤️

Three weeks ago we were given some bad news after Steve all but stopped eating. Blood tests showed very high concerning levels of calcium which pointed in the direction of the C word.
After some loving support from the Vet and staff at Sullivan Veterinary Clinic the last few weeks, the heartbreaking decision was made to let Steve go across the rainbow bridge this afternoon with dignity while we layed with her giving us hand licks right up to the time she peacefully closed her eyes. Earlier, the day was spent resting all morning, but she enjoyed some chicken tacos and some salmon skin for lunch. She went for a final walk around the yard in the sun before going for a car ride where she got to lay in her favorite spot with her head resting between us on the arm rest.

I need breakfast and that squirrel is getting fat on my bird seed. I’ll just wait here quietly.

Everyone. This is Finn. He’s my neighbor- we look alike and he’s a good friend that lives with Tom down the road. Finn is a field retriever like me. He went away to college to learn to hunt. He graduated last year so now he’s home for good.
Anyway he stopped by to say Happy Easter!
