ZINNA was lovesick. David's name was on her lips and heart. The thought of him always make her smile. She had told Adaeze that she rejected David's proposal because she was scared.

"Are you still scared? She asked

"No! I have peace. I have made mistake Adaeze. He doesn't talk about it again after I rejected him."

She stood up and started pacing her room.

"I love him Adaeze. All I see is him." She cried." It's as if my life have stopped. I am stuck Ada."

Ada embraced her.

"Relax! I believe in destiny. What will be will be."

When Adaeze got home, she placed a call to Tianna.

"I think Zinna is lovesick but cannot express her love" Tianna laughed hilariously. "I need the phone number of the Pastor. I want to talk to him but Zinna must not know" she told Tianna

"Alright. I will get it from my husband then send to you"

"Alright.

When Matthew returned from work, she collected the number and sent it to Adaeze.

Adaeze dialled the number and waited for pastor David to answer the call.

Pastor David dropped his phone on his table and laughed. The caller said Adaeze is her name and she's Zinna's best friend.

Before he would respond, the caller had cut the call.

Pastor David waited till Saturday morning. He stood before his mirror observing and adjusting here and there. He took his time to get himself ready. Then he set out for Matthew's house.

He told himself he would take Zinna to a place he just discovered and he would propose to her again.

When he got to Matthew's house, it was Zinna that opened the door. She was too beautiful to behold and he couldn't even respond to her greetings. He didn't know when the word left his mouth.

"Will you marry me?" He asked

"What are you waiting for Zinna?"

Matthew asked coming to the door. He stood behind Zinna and winked at the Pastor.

"Man of God come inside and start over again" he said laughing.

"Honey please come quickly. Something great is about to happen" he said

Tianna rushed to the sitting room and was surprised to see Pastor David. They exchanged pleasantries.

"I am not going to seat until my mission is completed. My better half is here. I came for you Zinna. Marry me!"

Zinna went straight to his arms. She didn't say anything. She was there in his arms for long.

"Don't say anything again. I will marry you because I love you so much"

He wore her a ring and she smiled.

"This call for celebrations". Matthew said congratulating both of them.

Zinna gaze was fixed solely on David. She didn't see or hear anything except his voice. The joy in her heart was overwhelming.

Pastor David met with her family and the marriage date was fixed.

In the church, it was announced that pastor David had found his missing rib and there was jubilation in the church.

Some of the Sisters began to leave the church. Victoria was the first. She had told everyone who cared to listen that David would marry her. When the marriage was announced, the shame would not allow her to face the church.

Zinna's heart beat tripled as she waited for David to arrive. She remembered Uzoma and Tony that died.

"I need a pain relief tablets" she told Tianna and Adaeze.

"I can't get such here. I know what is wrong. You're afraid but the good news is that you are leaving this church a married woman today" Tianna told her

"Relax! The devil can no longer mess up your life. We prayed Zinna." Matthew encouraged.

During the procession to the altar, she thought she was going to faint but her eyes met Adaeze who winked at her. This brought smile to her face.

When it was time for the exchange of marriage vows, Zinna looked at the congregation and was surprised with the large number of people that were in attendance. She looked at her inlaws and they smiled.

Matthew and Tianna looked gorgeous in their traditional wear. Her son waved at her and she winked at him.

When the officiating Pastor said,
"You may kiss your bride, it was then Pastor David discovered that Zinna was trembling. He not only kissed her but he hugged and whispered,

"Relax. Today my joy is full"

She was dazed as so many people came to congratulate her.

Suddenly, she left Pastor David's side and ran to hug Tianna and Matthew. She used her tears to wet Matthew's clothes.

"We are still here for you anytime Zinna. My house is still your home but you have a partner now." Matthew told her.

She began to laugh and cry and at the same time. Adaeze stood beside her and cried too. Both friends hug each other.

Zinna was so overwhelmed by everything.

Pastor David sat in an eatery with Zinna. He had been looking at the menu and still undecided about what he wants. He wasn't actually there for the eating and whining but to do the needful. He was in a hurry. Who would not be in a hurry? He loves Zinna and was ready to go for her.

Zinna looked at the menu and ordered what she ordered for herself. When the food was brought, he didn't touch it. He watched Zinna eat.

"You have been staring at me without touching your food." She observed and told him.

"Will you marry me?" He whispered.

Zinna who wasn't expecting such question laughed loud.

Pastor David looked round and saw people staring at them.

"Marry me Zinna. I am not going to hide how I feel about you. I love you. I waited long for this. I am certain you're my wife. I have prayed about it.

Zinna who had stopped laughing looked at Pastor David sadly.

Zinna looked at him and the tears that has been threatening started falling.

"Talk to me Zinna. I am here for you. Do you prefer to dïe in silence?"

"I am afraid Matthew. I am afraid."

She sobbed again.

"I will not lie to you. I love someone. He asked me to marry him but well... I...I rejected his proposal." She stammered.

"Hmmm! You love someone but rejected his proposal?

"Yes"

He held her hands as she cried. Matthew began to worry about Pastor David. How he will be feeling but he didn't want to tell Zinna, David had come to him.

"I understand Zinna. You're afraid the person would dïe."

Zinna nodded and tried to sniffle back tears.

"Have you tried to pray about it?"

"No!"

"Alright! I and my wife will join you to pray. God answers prayers. There will be no more death and disappointment. Zinna make sure you don't entertain fear. Fear will cripple your ability to take the right decision."

"What is your heart telling you about this man that you rejected his proposal? God has not even said anything because you never mentioned the person to Him. We're going to be intentional about our prayer. If God says Yes then the marriage will take place."

He stood up and held her hand.

"Trust God Zinna."

"Alright"

"Common on! Join me to watch television. Be lively. All will be well."

She smiled and followed him to the sitting room.

Zinna's rejection affected Pastor David, yet he still call her and visit occasionally. He would encourage her to stand firm on God's promises for her life.

He didn't discuss marriage with Zinna again. Not even ones did he mention it. He put everything behind him. He focused on the ministry.

He invited Zinna to the church but she was afraid that the members would reject her again. He had not forgotten how they reacted to her deliverance. David encouraged her and she went. She was overwhelmed by the show of love. Some of those members who rejected her openly actually apologized to her. Zinna was happy. She became a regular visitor in the church.

On a certain Sunday, Pastor David gave her the microphone to minister. God used her so mightily. Many members stood with mouth opened.

"How can this be that God is using this sister?" Some asked.

Just one day of ministration in that church, healing, deliverance and restoration took place. There was an unusual turnaround in the lives of people. Some members cried to God.

"Use me like you are using Zinna. I refuse to be useless in your house."

The members were not in a hurry to go home as God was settling people's cases.

Pastor David knew Zinna had the calling of God upon her life but he never knew how great it was. He watched as she minister and he began to cry. He thanked God for delivering Zinna from the kingdom of darkness. Now she has become an honourable vessel in God's house.

After service in David's office, Zinna sat holding a bottle water.

"Why are you smiling Pastor?"

"Nothing ooo. God used you mightily today"

"True and I return all the glory to God."

"You grew more than I expected"

Zinna laughed.

"I paid the price Pastor. You want to become great in His house? You must be ready to pray and not faint. I spend time with God. I sat at His feet to learn. I never wanted to become an ordinary Christian. I wanted to be a Christian that carry power. I never settle for less. Prayer is key for spiritual strength.

That day the Respect Pastor David had for Zinna increased.

Episode 32 😌 {quarter Final} ending is near!

Tianna was worried. Zinna's recovery was slow yet doctor Chukwuemeka kept telling them Zinna is fine. How can someone be fine when she would not talk but stare into space? Tianna would ask.

"Relax madam. Be grateful she's alive."

"Of course I am grateful."

"She's still shocked and overwhelmed."

Daily she and her husband were there for Zinna.

Pastor David would close from work then come to the hospital to visit Zinna. It doesn't matter how late he closes, he would still come, stay with her then return home.

He would sit by her side, sing and read the bible aloud. Zinna would listen to him read and pray before drifting to sleep.

Sometimes, when he hadn't come, she would fix her gaze on the door, waiting expectantly for him. She would not sleep until he had visited.

Once Pastor David thought Zinna had fallen asleep. He took her hand and held it in his.

"You ran before but I won't let you run again. You're going to be my wife."

He looked everywhere then smiled. He forgot there was no one except him and Zinna in the room.

"I did not just say that" he told himself smiling.

When Pastor David left, Zinna opened her eyes and sat up.

"Don't think of it Pastor David. Marriage is not for me."

She wiped the tears falling from her eyes.

Few weeks later, Zinna was discharged from the hospital. Matthew would not allow Pastor David pay the bill alone. They shared it equally and settled the hospital.

Zinna told Matthew and Tianna how he was shot. She narrated the whole thing to the shock of Tianna.

Then she proceeded to the neighbour who rushed her to the hospital. She thanked him and took her leave.

As the gateman was about opening the gate for her to leave, she called the man back.

"Raise your trouser up a little" she instructed pointing to the man's left leg.

The man obediently raised the trouser and Zinna saw a rotten leg. He looked at the man, and saw his tears falling.

"How long have you been carrying this?"she asked.

"For eight months. The doctor said my leg need to be amputated. I stepped on po!son and there's no medical cure for it."

Zinna smiled.

"Whose report will you believe sir? She looked so intently at him.

"God's report" he said

"God's report says you're healed and I believe that report too."

"Hallelujah!"

"It's well with you and your household"

"Amen!

Zinna left the man's house. She was talking to the gateman when she held someone hitting the gate. She stood and watch the gateman open the gate. Lo and behold, the man and his wife rushed into the compound and hug Zinna crying.

"I am healed. God has given me a new leg." He said raising his trouser up for Zinna to see. He began to pray for Zinna

"Affliction will never rise again in your life the second time" she told them.

She watched as the man and his wife danced jubilantly out of the compound.

"All power in heaven and on earth belong to God" she said smiling as she entered the house.

It's been more than six months Zinna was discharged from the hospital. Those times, pastor David would pick his phone and dialled Zinna's line. He would ask if she had eaten and taken her drugs. He would ask if she slept well or need anything. Twice he visited her at home. He didn't go empty handed. He went shopping for her. He prayed and encouraged her to be strong.

He marvelled when he discovered that Zinna was mature in spiritual things. He gave the credit to Matthew and Tianna for grooming her. He was also grateful that Zinna didn't run into the wrong hand when he left the church.

Presently the thought of Zinna filled his heart. He had picked his phone to call her but what would his reason be for calling? He reasoned. The truth is he had fallen deeply in love with her.

"Yes I love her." He said.

"Father, I love Zinna. What do you have to say"

He picked his car key and drove to Matthew's office. Both of them had become acquainted. Matthew welcomed him to his office.

"Man of God has visited me today." He said shaking David's hand.

"Have your sit"

He sat but refused any drink even water.

"What I came for is urgent. Serious business." He said adjusting his tie.

"Loosen up Pastor. You're too tensed."

He looked at Matthew and forced a smile.

"I want to marry Zinna." He blurted out. "I love her"

He sigh deeply. Matthew looked at him and laughed. Never had he seen such expression on anyone's face. Was it relief? He wondered.

"Will she accept me?" He asked.

"Take it easy Pastor. This is good news anyway. As to whether she will be your wife, why don't you ask her yourself?"

"How do I do that?"

"Are you kidding me?" Matthew asked surprised. "Take her out and pop the big question. Be confident." He told him.

He thanked Matthew and took his leave.

He was happy that Matthew even encouraged him.

"Why are you smiling? Adaeze asked Zinna.

Zinna looked at her and laughed again.

"Nothing"

She was in Adaeze's house and they were baking a cake. Oluoma's birthday was the next day. Zinna sip her juice but didn't notice that Adaeze had been staring at her and wondering why she was smiling by herself.

"Common Zinna! You can't be smiling all by yourself."

"Well I have been thinking of Pastor David" she said shyly.

Adaeze left what she was doing and sat opposite Zinna.

"Hmm! You must tell me who this Pastor is oo. He can't be making you blush like this oo." Adaeze said laughing.

"He was my former Pastor. He was the one who led me to Christ."

"Woah!

"I think about him alot Ada. He was with me in the hospital. He was just there. Each time I think about him, joy is always bubbling in my heart."

"Hmmmm!"

"What? She asked her friend smiling.

"Zinna is in love oo" Adaeze said tickling her cheek.

"Nooo! I am not in love. I just like him. I think I like him"

"You think you like him?

"Yes!"

Adaeze laughed hilariously.

"Do you know what I think? Zinna you're in love with him. Check yourself my friend, you love him. Tell yourself the truth"

"That's not true."

Adaeze tickled her and ran towards the house. Zinna stood and ran after her.
