EMDrive News
Gives up to date news on the 'impossible' EMDrive fuel-less propulsion system.
Big thanks to Dave Distler for these videos: "I began designing an emdrive in 2015 after I read an article on NASA's Eagleworks Lab. I chose to mimic Dr White and Roger Shawyer's frustum cavity. Once the power sources were proven, I tested 2 versions I named 1701 and 1701A. I decided to vlog the entire test process which resulted in 39 videos. While I noted a thrust of 18.4 mN with 1 kW input, I did not have a vacuum chamber nor magnetic shielding to continue further testing. However, 18.4 mN fit a predicted force according to Professor McCullough of Plymouth University and his theory of Quantised Inertia. These videos were released publicly in 2024 to encourage further investigation of QI and other theories beyond our currently accepted knowledge of physics."
1701A Archive Complete vlog of design, build and test of 1701A experimental propellantless space thruster 2015 to 2017. Sort oldest to newest.
Robotic motion in curved space defies standard laws of physics - Yahoo News UK
Robotic motion in curved space defies standard laws of physics Scientists have built a robot that defies the standard laws of physics and could eventually help humans travel around black holes. The experiment was done by placing a ‘swimmer’ on a sphere with actuated motors on a freely rotating boom arm.Nasa has been working on such an engine, called an EmDri...
This NASA Engineer Says That A Physics-Defying Engine Could Go At 99% The Speed Of Light
This NASA Engineer Says That A Physics-Defying Engine Could Go At 99% The Speed Of Light Advertisement Humans have always pushed their boundaries and achieved wonders. Now, imagine an engine that requires no propellant. It sounds impossible, and what it is set out to achieve is probably impossible, if not entirely. Impossible puts most people off their set objectives, but that is not st...

Scientists Haven't 'Created' a Warp Bubble, But They're a Bit Closer to Testing One - ExtremeTech
Scientists Haven't 'Created' a Warp Bubble, But They're a Bit Closer to Testing One - ExtremeTech Sorry, hopeful Trekkies, but we have to burst everyone's warp bubble. Despite recent reports that scientists had built a real warp bubble, it looks like warp speed is still a few baby steps away. But all hope is not lost: we sat down with Dr. Harold G. "Sunny" White, whose research team has recently...

space propulsion – Hackaday Space Propulsion: Separating Fact From Science Fiction April 19, 2021 by Maya Posch 70 Comments An unfortunate property of science-fiction is that it is, tragically, fiction. Instead of soaring between the stars and countless galaxies out there, we find ourselves hitherto confined to this planet we....
The EmDrive Isn't Dead Yet ... Says the Guy Who Invented the EmDrive
The EmDrive Isn’t Dead Yet ... Says the Guy Who Invented the EmDrive Yes, the "impossible" engine failed critical thrust tests. But that was always going to happen, this scientist claims.
Here's why there's still hope for interstellar travel
Here’s why there’s still hope for interstellar travel To some, the EmDrive violated the basic laws of physics. For others, it promised efficient space flight beyond our solar system and galaxy.

Bad news, the EmDrive propulsion system wouldn’t work without fuel … – ScoopCube The EmDrive (ElectroMagnetic Drive) or the asymmetrical resonance thruster with electromagnetic cavity, which was first proposed in 2001 by the British aeronautical engineer Roger Shawyer, is an electric drive system that can generate thrust without fuel.
Inventor Warned That Latest Test Of 'Impossible' Space Drive Was Fatally Flawed
Is ‘Impossible’ Space Drive Really Impossible? Inventor Says Much-Hyped Negative Test Was Flawed Skeptics believe a new report finally proves the controversial EmDrive produces no thrust. Roger Shawyer, who invented the drive, says that he pointed out that the test design was fundamentally flawed four years ago.
Five SF Stories That Embrace the Scientifically Improbable Reactionless Drive
Five SF Stories That Embrace the Scientifically Improbable Reactionless Drive Recently, physicists around the world were astounded to learn that painstaking testing of the visionary EmDrive revealed that the device produces no discernable thrust. By “astounded,” I mean “not …
They once again refute the EmDrive, the impossible engine created by NASA
They once again refute the EmDrive, the impossible engine created by NASA - Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Ltd Image: Luis M. Molina/Gizmodo (Getty Images) Five years ago, NASA researchers conducted experiments with an object called EmDrive, a Y-shaped metal chamber which, it seemed, looked like boost without using any type of fuel. Such a contraption would disprove the basic principles of physics as as we k...
EmDrive, the 'Impossible' Engine Tested by NASA, Is Knocked Down Once Again
EmDrive, 'Impossible' Engine Tested by NASA, Is Knocked Down Again Five years ago, a paper by NASA researchers described an object called the EmDrive, in which thrust could be produced without propellant. Sadly, it seems it was too good to be true.
In a comprehensive new test, the EmDrive fails to generate any thrust
In a comprehensive new test, the EmDrive fails to generate any thrust The EmDrive is a hypothetical rocket that proponents claim can generate thrust with no exhaust. This would violate all known physics. In 2016, a team at NASA's Eagleworks lab claimed to measure thrust from an EmDrive device, the news of which caused quite a stir. The latest attempt to replicate the....
'Impossible' EmDrive Actually Is Impossible, Comprehensive Test Shows
'Impossible' EmDrive Actually Is Impossible, Comprehensive Test Shows - ExtremeTech The hypothetical EmDrive rocket engine threatened to upend what we knew about physics... if it worked. After the latest round of testing, we can say with a high degree of certainty that it doesn't.
