A home brewery in Shelby, NC. "It's not always Wednesday; but it's always hump day."
Boil complete- whirlpool for 20.
Been awhile since I have been in the brew house.
My new brewery companion...
It’s been awhile since I’ve been in the brewery🍻
Whew what a fast brew day- didn’t even get to stop to snap a photo 👍😀. Finished by 2:00 even with the slow transfer to the kettle.
Milking grain for tomorrow’s brew day
Getting ready!
So far so good! 🍻🤞
Ready for brew day tomorrow
The Hunt’lets learning the secret recipe for Mom’s rolls.
The brewery is turned into a bakery prep for Thanksgiving. Mom and the girls making rolls for tomorrow.
Mash out
Nice color- and clear even with the power blip
Back up and running- thank you City of Shelby Energy Services! Less than an hour!
This is how it was going before the power went out
Today would be a day when you are glad you brew with propane. 15 min into the mash and the power goes out.
Yes, finally getting a brew day in. The yeast starter for tomorrow.
Well everything was going smoothly until I doughed in and realized the HLT element was off and I lost a lot of my heat. Oh well going to let the mash circulate to bring the temp back up.
I really hate my hobby today😤🤬. Stuck mash, been trickling wort into buckets and dumping into the kettle for over two hours
Guess what day it is🐫
The milk stout is in the bright tank- good thing, I’m nearly out of beer.
Done...🍻

Mash is done- 2x 5gal buckets of grain- anyone have chickens?
Just about ready for the mash out of the Chocolate Mocha Stout
Milling last night- small mill takes awhile.
Getting ready to brew!

The Hopslam clone IPA is in the conditioning tank- now to get these fermenters filled back up.
Kegging up the chocolate-cherry stout.
Might need to open the gap a bit on the mill, still getting some grain past the screen
Brew day is in full swing. New grain mill works good- although it’s slow.
Getting ready for last brew day for 2018. Had to clean up HLT from some backwash from the mash tun during the last brew session.
Belgian IPA 9.1% whew! Look at that lacing!
First session with the canner. 38 16oz cans.
Just finished kegging the Belgian IPA, came in at 9.1ABV- whew! 15 gallons into the kegs. Will be the first run with the new can seamer. Anyone got any ideas for a name for this one?
I’d say I have a pretty active fermentation going. 🍻
