We are currently costume planning for our show The Queen’s Park. As a small team we would appreciate any offers of help, that is Time, Talents, Money and now costumes. If you have any item lurking in a cupboard which might be reminiscent of 1870s London then do let us know.

‪Our show The Queen’s Park is set in 1879 and its fascinating to compare the maps of 1880s and 1890s. Note Queen’s Park Station which opened on 2nd June 1879. Save the dates 3-5th July. ‬

Our Patron Sir Simon Russell Beale kindly joined us recently at UCS in Hampstead for a major fundraiser for our show The Queen’s Park. He performed his own production Absolute Music alongside actors Kate Gielgud and Kathryn Worth. Simon explored the influences of Maurice Ravel’s exquisite String Quartet in F Major through readings from Proust, Wordsworth, Auden and Larkin, interspersed with piano excerpts played by maestro Nico De Villiers and a string quartet. Here they are in rehearsal. Aren’t we lucky!!!!!

‪At The Big Top Chorus we LOVE Sir Simon Russell Beale. Simon is our Patron, he took part in a fundraiser for us last week and wait for it....drum roll.... he has agreed to play Queen Victoria in our production of The Queen’s Park on 3-5th July. Yes, we know that might take some imagining but it is absolutely true! ‬

The Big Top Chorus is a local Community Chorus, newly formed in Queen’s Park. A very special musical show has been written for them to commemorate the Royal Agricultural Show of 1879 and the visit of Queen Victoria, for whom the park was named. The Queen’s Park will be performed over several nights in the park and inside a huge tent. Save 3, 4 and 5th July in your diaries and PLEASE tell your friends. Please share this post to help spread the word. Thank you!
