May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. Saint Patrick behold you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die. 🙏🏻

I'll see this side of the green no more,
Or feel those gentle mists.

The warmth of the sun as it breaks through the clouds,

Will no longer find me in its midst.

For I'm off to meet my maker and
I hope in Heaven to remain,
Though departing from this emerald isle
Gives me a stab of pain.

Yet part of me will remain here,
Beneath this soft, blessed ground.
Please take a moment to remember me,
Whenever you come around….

May God Bless You All!

Today, I think we...

educate kids to be settled
in the comfortable chair.

You have your job,

you have your little car,

you have a place to sleep,
and the dreams are dead.

You don't grow on a secure path.

All of us should
conquer something in life...

and it needs a lot of work...

and it needs a lot of risk.

In order to grow and to improve,

you have to be there a bit
at the edge of uncertainty.

That is how Peter lived! 🙏🏻

Thank you to Terry Joyce for writing this beautiful post and tribute about our dear friend. 🇮🇪 ☘️ ❤️

Of all the traditions in Ireland, my favorite has to be the ‘months mind’. After someone has past, friends and loved ones gather again in a months time to have mass and pray for their loved one. It’s simple but profound, much like our dear friend Pete.

Pete was the master craftsmen, whether on the soccer field, the ponies in Central Park, or the owner of Cleveland’ finest bars, Pete’s respect for his craft was something to behold.

He welcomed us all, saints and sinners, cops and criminals, laborers and artists, pipe fitters and lawyers, with a greeting that Pete would have handcrafted only for you.

He not only managed to see the very best in each of us, he held that same passion and belief for our hometown. On both occasions when he was building the TreeHouse and Stone Mad, I said to him “are you crazy, why are you sinking that much money into these places.” Pete would just wink and smile knowing that his end product would always justify the means. I’d marvel at his persistence and remain envious of his unyielding passion.

So on this occasion of the ‘months mind’ we remember this master proprietor and thank Brian and Eileen for keeping the light on, like always, Pete knew exactly what he was doing.

Accept people as they are and not as you expect them to be.

Of all the money that e'er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm I've ever done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
La ra la ra la la
La lala lala la la
La ra lala la la
La la la lala la la
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Good night and joy be to you all

I met Pete Leneghan in the Spring of 2007 as he and his friends were building Stone Mad Pub.

He invited me to come in for a pint once the bar was finished. I was blown away. It is the most beautiful bar you have ever seen and the Guinness the finest this side of Saint James Gate. When I asked him about the care he and his friends took in building this masterpiece, he simply said "I just wanted to build a really cool bar."

That was Pete.

This place quickly attracted some exceptional characters of Cleveland and everyone loved Pete - it was like the TV show Cheers but more authentic, with better stories, and no Cliff Clavin.

As a new person in Cleveland at the time, Pete made sure to introduce me to his friends and family and really made me feel at home. He put me in his flip phone under the nickname he gave me "Chicago Pete”. He was already going through life with the handle of "American Pete" himself. He helped me get acclimate to my new city and I am forever thankful for that. Many of the patrons to the Stone Mad have now become good friends thanks to Pete.

Sundays at the pub were the best - he would have a grin from ear to ear and then he would get out the spoons and start playing along with the band. Pete could tell stories of his days in NYC on the carriages that would make Damon Runyon blush. On one occasion my newly married bride and I were talking to Pete and he gave us the best martial advice you could ever receive. He looked us both straight in the eye and said, "Be good to each other." There is something sweet and perfect that comes in receiving honest martial advice from a lifelong bachelor and the words still ring true years later for us.

Jackie Robinson once said "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." By this measure, Pete lived one of the most important lives of all time because he impacted everyone from every walk of life you could imagine.

We will all miss Pete already and remember his kindness to all and the love he had for his family, friends, and the good Craic as he would call it.

Rest in Peace Pete and our prayers go out to your entire family, Mrs. Leneghan, Bart, Tommy, Eileen, and all of the lives you have impacted.
