Horta roundtable around Europe😍🌏 In Hungary we have had some really warm, sunny and warm days in May. Edible wild greens are still abundantly present (here on this picture literally on a round wooden table:) How is your horta reality now, where you live?

We are now living the most nutritious time of the year in Finland. All the Nothern super plants are coming up! The best way of enjoying them is to make hortahakkelus out of them: chop, add oil, vinegar and salt. Then use this "pesto" on most anything to spice it up and upgrade!

It is still Horta time in the Italian countryside 🤩 May ☔️ brings lush green fields with abundant variety of edible plants and flowers. My favorite was rose petals and acacia flowers 🥰 Have you already tried some of them?

If you are in Helsinki, Finland in the beginning of June, we can recommend a horta walk in a wonderful park area Herttoniemi close to city centre.

These walks also talk about how to use wild plants in skin care. Three events alltogether.

Ladies mantle, the best wild plant friend of women in all important (and challenging) phases of life. In salad or as infusion. 3-4 leaves a day is enough to help.

Just added some plantain (plantago) leaves to the store bought frozen spinach for extra boost. I prepared spinach cream and of course nobody from the family noticed the little cheat ☺️ Wild edible plant contain higher levels of antioxidant and minerals than industrially grown plants so even a small amount can mean a lot. Try to sneak in some horta to your cooking as well 😉

Spring is the nicest season for horta picking. During our weekend excursions we found wild garlic, wood sorrel, wild fennel and boosted our home made packed lunch with them 🤩
It is so easy to complement your meals with wild edible plants 🥰

Jouko Kivimetsä from Finland is a real "wild-being". This year he is 70 years old., and he considers himself to be in his middle-age – without a crisis. He feels to be in his 30's - except his health and energy are better than then. What is his secret for this? He will reveal it in the video. And guiding others towards this is his active mission.

Edible wild plants can be found everywhere! Even a city park can be your “hunting grounds”. This park is full of dandelions, daisies, sorrels and malva. Spring has arrived, nature blooms, try to use this period to stock up with horta!

Rosemary is one of the earliest blooming plants in spring. Have you ever tried to eat the flowers? They contain high levels of essential oils as well, similar taste as the leaves but less strong.

Greetings from Florence 🇮🇹! While here,I have tried the famous local delicacy: “Trippa alla Fiorentina”, aka tripe. I know, many people have aversion towards organ meats but beef stomach is one of the best collagen source. Well, I wouldn’t eat a stomach of a CAFO-cattle but thankfully, here in Italy is not a concern. I also made a quick Horta pesto to add some greens to my plate. Delicious! 🤤 -being

"Hortafarmer" Jouko makes these reports from different parts of
Europe in different times of the year. For you to understand where and how to find wild edible plants - to be a truly Wild One! Now this report is from Costa del Sol, where to go to find best places for horta in January - after a dry season.

The really easiest way to use wild edible plants, horta, is to add leaves to a soup. Here in a mountain village of Istan in Andalucia, l picked some dandelion leaves on a hike, dipped them in water to remove dust and just added to a creamy tomato soup. Dandelion adds a nice twist to the soup taste. And the soup smoothens the taste of the healthy bitter substances of dandelion. And among other things, dandelion adds best pissible fibers to your nutrition.

If you want to know more of the use of dandelion, eg how to use its roots in a delicious way, you can order a free minicourse where this, plus 2 other common, excellent wild plants are presented.

Wild-being wants to teach everybody in Europe to see the free superfood teasures our Nature is offering us! This is our teams mission!
