AR Reach & Rise
Reach & Rise is the youth mentoring program of the Hot Springs Family YMCA. We offer two versions of the program - 1:1 and Group.
Reach & Rise youth mentoring is recruiting mentors for virtual training. Mentors will be matched with youth as social distancing requirements relax, but you can knock out the training and background checks now and be ready! Mentoring is such a great way to give back to the community. Contact Elan at 501.623.8803 for more information.

According to data from County Health Rankings & Roadmaps released earlier this week, 15% of high school students in Garland County drop out. Did you know kids with mentors are significantly more likely to graduate?
Last December, the FDA declared the alarming increase in teen e-cigarette use an epidemic. One in five teens use e-cigarettes regularly, and 40% of teens have used an e-cigarette in the last month. And teens who use are more likely to use traditional to***co products. In fact, the youth smoking rate in Arkansas is the 3rd highest in the country.
SB571 aims to address this issue. The bill would increase the taxes on to***co and va**ng products, an approach that has been proven to decrease teen smoking rates. In fact, a 20% increase in cigarette taxes could result in a 12-14% drop in the rate of teen smoking. With a health crisis like this, SB571 could make a big difference. Support this bill!
