Paula Johnson is a Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law. She is also the co-founder and director of the Cold Case Justice Initiative (CCJI), which investigates racially-motivated murders committed during the civil rights era and in contemporary times. Tune into this conversation about race and gender based activism, Professor Johnson’s experience with legal and criminal justice systems as a scholar-activist, and collective transnational solidarity.

Helena María Viramontes is a Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences in English at Cornell University and a critically acclaimed fiction author. We enjoyed speaking with her about her familial ties to feminism, her writing and research practices and representing resistance in her work. She is currently working on her third novel, The Cemetery Boys.
