The utterly appealing name of this wee critter is "Bird-dropping spider" or "Celaenia excavata" in the common form!?

This is the first time I have seen one of these and I found it by chance, whilst trying to get some good images of the Blue Banded Bee. (those bees make regular honey-bees look lethargic)

The size is about 2.5mm and it may indicate that it is a male. Size matters. The females apparently get up to 12mm. (according to : https://australian.museum/learn/animals/spiders/bird-dropping-spider/)

Oh yes. Caution. Spider image here. If you squint. :)

The descent to the coast.

While I have traveled back-and-forth from Collie, I have seen this image repeatedly (in different guises and colours)

I finally had a chance to try to 'capture' it and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

A start. :)

Non-Motorsport A collection of images that are not related to motorsport. It could be street, travel, family, life, natural. But all are images that I love.

What are you looking at here?
Two men, dwarfed by the occulus whether looking up or down. But tiny in scale.
Where? A small piece of 'the Eternal City', the home of Romulus and Remus - Roma. Specifically the Panthenon, a vast dome stretching high above your head, exposed to the weather from above, and yet not.

Taken 2013. And no I won't put it back. :)

This will probably mostly birds and insects.

Why those two? Because I don't see too many other beasties around. I miss the dolphins (too far, often) and I am well and truly too far from the seals. Fish are plentiful but camera protection, (lack of), prohibits that.

Sunset Street.
As the sun is going down on Western Australia, the streets are deserted; no longer full of the wildlife known as Homo Sapiens but their detritus.
