Laughing Gnome Knits
A showcase of handmade pieces from cozy and sophisticated to whimsical and fun!
Cozy socks for a respectable hobbit who never has any adventures or for a disturber of the peace!
This little piggy went to the farmers market as a gift!
A little brioche!
Another Christmas gift
Now that all these gifts have been given out…
Ok so I know it’s been a while but not for lack of knitting! One scarf many ways- can’t wait for fall 🍁
So happy for you, .yarn.to.dye.for.designs but so sad for me- I love your yarn! Thank you for all the kindness, generosity, and love you put into the world and for all the beautiful colors! Enjoy your new adventures!
The last of the hats (that I remembered to photograph 🤷🏼♀️)
I forgot I haven’t finished posting the hats I made!
More hats…
I’ve gotten to use up some yarn I’ve had lying around for a while… these tightly knit chunky hats will be nice and cozy!
In the midst of madness, knitting is often my quiet, happy place, and never more so than when I’m making something for someone else.
When a local high school student requested hand-made hats from area knitters and crocheters for her project on homelessness, I jumped right in…
And this, in part, explains my lack of posts lately… if you’ve tried Brooks’ BBQ then you know, and if you haven’t, reserve your dinner and you will- this stuff is GOOD!
Brooks' BBQ at the MRC, Tuesday, April 11
Drive-Up Take-Out 3:30-6:30
Call 845-687-3057 to pre-order (recommended!) $15 per dinner.

THANK YOU!
When your bestie’s kid has to spend a chunk of north country winter with her toes poking out of a thigh-high cast…
And this is the last of the Christmas gifts that I remembered to photograph but I used this pattern for a few pairs so just imagine them in different colors 😂
Another Christmas gift I forgot to post…
Another bun hat…
It was pretty warm out today, but I bet this subtle snowflake bun hat still came in handy.
Ok so maybe my lack of posts recently made it seem like I wasn’t knitting- but I assure you I have been! Now that these people have received their Christmas gifts I’m willing to share! Though since I didn’t take individual pictures of most of these I guess I could have posted this one ages ago 😂 New Years resolution? Take and post pictures! 😂Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year 🧡
I don’t know about you, but I love watching movies while I knit… especially Christmas themed ones… especially Christmas themed ones created by friends and inspired in part by my hometown… at least that will be the case when this project is complete! So check this out and consider contributing!

Took a break from Christmas gift knitting (the reason for my lack of posts lately) to knit these spooky season socks! The yarn is the “my worst nightmare” sock set I got last year from .yarn.to.dye.for.designs which is perfect for this mash-up of charts I threw together!
Ok, so. I started knitting this top back in April, got the lace bottom done and decided I wanted a tighter gauge. So I ripped it out and started over. Then I messed up the lace and ripped it out and started over. Several times. Then I finished the lace again and decided the top would be way too big… so I ripped it out and started over. I finally got to the neckline and straps, got a couple inches in and decided I didn’t like the lace patter. So I ripped it out (to the proactive lifeline I miraculously remembered to put in) and started over. Finally off the needles and finished, I washed and wet blocked, even going so far as to measure as I pinned (which I typically can’t be bothered doing), and a few days later decided it could come off the mat in the morning. And then my cat threw up on it. Now that it’s been washed and properly blocked again, I’d say it looks pretty good, all things considered! It seems fitting that the yarn is “Peevish Peeves” from .yarn.to.dye.for.designs (which held up beautifully despite the abuse), and I keep referring to it as my undone tank… 🎶if you want to destroy my sweater, pull this thread as I walk away…🎶 Thanks for making all my knit destruction fun!
So happy with how this blanket came out and even happier that it went to people who love it so much!
Finally got something finished that I can post! This cozy housewarming gift came only a year after the house was originally warmed 😂
So as all my current WIPs and recently finished projects are gifts I’m not ready to share yet, I’ll take this opportunity to mention that the laughing gnome also bakes…
I’ll be taking a break from knitting for this too! If you’re in the area I encourage and welcome you to do the same!
