Doing nothing is still just fine!: Sometimes you might not be able to do anything - your mind just can’t process anything more. If so, don’t worry! You don’t have to be productive all the time. It’s okay to just stop everything and take a break - make time for yourself, have a light chat with your friends… You don’t even need to have a hobby!

Talk to others: Be honest with colleagues or your boss or your professor when you feel you’re in a bind. And chatting with your friends and family will help you in taking your mind off the stress and sharing your world with them. Don’t worry, you’re not in this alone.

Make Time For Yourself: Making time for yourself means with yourself only. Of course, it’s important to spend time with family and friends, but carving out just a half-hour of time if possible in your day for your own hobby or relaxation will do wonders for your well-being. Yes, this means you should sometimes opt-out of that Zoom happy hour or take an extra-long shower so you can be alone with yourself.

With ever increasing levels of uncertainty, a new strain of covid on the rise, we are back to unchartered waters yet again. This has led to colleges and schools reopening in a phased manner with huge disputes between parents , students and authorities. The work from home concept once a desirable experience that many were anticipating has infact made us feel like we are on the edge of the precipice . A blurred line between our work and personal life we realise we seldom took our mental health into account.

Keeping this in mind, we will be posting a series on maintaining healthy boundaries between your work and personal space.

Declutter Your Physical And Mental Space: If you have a dedicated space like this to study/work from home, then, as much as possible, place items in that space that are related to study/work. Clear the rest out.

Get fresh air: If circumstances allow, go outside for a brisk walk and fresh air (but remember - 6-foot distance!)

Set And Stick To A Routine: Create and maintain a routine and schedule. Set up a designated space for you and each family member to work and study. Don't forget to include periodic breaks for recharging in your schedule.

COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it. Being anxious and uncomfortable is normal and expected while being quarantined during a pandemic. Quarantining away from your loved ones increases feelings of loneliness and isolation. With routines disrupted and social distancing enforced, it can be a stressful and anxiety-inducing time for many.

While it's natural to feel agitated, taking a step back and using this time to do something for yourself or the community could be a good way to distract yourself from everything around you.

“There are many words that people often use when describing Anand Pathak. Musician, scientist, talented, intelligent, cheerful, happy, the list goes on. While I admire him for all of these qualities, a different term comes to mind. One for which my admiration knows no bounds.

Strong.

Mental Illness is lonely, hard and frankly, all puns intended, depressing. I thought I was alone in my fight before I met Anand. Having someone to talk to, someone who understood, someone to fight by my side through the hardest parts of the day - which for him on some days were as simple as putting on his trademark smile and heading out to do the things he loved - changed my life.
The name Anand means happiness, and for most of those who knew him that’s exactly what he brought them. For me, he also brought with him acceptance, understanding, will and strength. Qualities far more admirable than anything else in my eyes.
We promised each other that we’d get through this together, a promise akin to soldiers going into battle against an enemy so relentless and powerful. I suppose in our hearts we knew it would be foolish to assume we’d both make it out as soon as we said it.
My memories of him give me the strength to keep that promise. To get better, and to do for others what he did for me. To fight by their side, to be their “Anand” on their bad days.
He was my best friend. I miss him, I love him and do my best everyday to honour him. I hope he’s found happiness and peace, wherever he is. Never was there a soul who deserved it more.”
