Create Church is working to help meet the needs of our community at this time. We want to let you know, we are here to help.

If you don’t have friends or neighbours to assist you at this time, you can contact Create on 07925657699 where we will do what we can to help you.

- Supplies are limited, but we can give you food via Food Bank.
- If you can afford food but can’t get out, we can either shop and deliver your food or connect you with another local service who can.
- We can pick up prescriptions from your pharmacy.
- We can offer you care and support via a phone call and support you via our Information & Guidance project.

Food Bank

If you have children at Littleton Green Primary School, then we will direct you to the system they have in place. If you have transport and are able to access Cannock and District Foodbank at their hubs in Cannock, Chadsmoor and Penkridge then we will refer to you their excellent service at 01543 422394.

If you cannot travel then we will help you by delivering a food parcel to you. Deliveries will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays each week. Please call our number if you need access to this help 07925657699.

We have a small team of volunteers who are able to provide high quality, confidential, non-judgmental information and guidance. You can access this support by phone and receive help with benefits and debt.

Food Shopping & Pharmacy Prescriptions

If you do not need the Food Bank system and can afford to pay for your own food and other provisions then we are able to shop and deliver food and prescription items to you, or connect you with another local service who can such as Chase Coronavirus Support Network [email protected] and Huntington Co-op who run an online shopping service.

- you do not have a relative/friend or neighbour who can shop for you.
- you are unable to access a delivery service by the supermarket.

Repairs

If you are stuck with a basic house repair that requires the help of a volunteer handyman, please use our Repair Service. We are not professionals, merely enthusiastic amateurs, willing to respond as quickly as possible. We are unable to help with electric or gas problems or where a certificate or qualification is needed. Phone 01785 214750 to access this project.

Helpful contacts & information. This information is for not just for people on benefits – if you are on a low wage or struggling financially these agencies will consider your applications.

GAS OR ELECTRICITY
If you’re on a low waged income or benefits and you have a GAS OR ELECTRICITY DEBT. Help may be available through a UTILITY TRUST FUND to clear the debt and start you on an affordable payment plan. (contact your utility provider or look for the trust fund application form on their website)

WATER
If you’re on a low waged income or benefits and you have a WATER DEBT. Help may be available through the SEVEN TRENT WATER AUTHORITY TRUST Fund to clear the debt and start you on an affordable payment plan (Contact your water company or look for the trust fund application form on their website.

CHEAPER WATER
From Severn Trent Water Authority BIG DIFFERENCE SCHEME or South Staffs Water WATER-SURE TARIFF.
Contact your water provider to see if your eligible (it’s not just for people on benefits if you have a low income you may qualify) Reductions range from 10% – 90% off the average yearly charge.

Need a WASHING MACHINE but can’t afford to buy one – apply to STWA trust fund to see if they can help you with one.

ENERGY PROVIDERS ADDITIONAL HELP THROUGH COVID 19 PANDEMIC.

GAS AND ELECTRICITY
PREPAYMENT METERS - If you can’t get out to top up your gas or electricity meter telephone your energy supplier and tell them you’re self-isolating or can’t get to the shops because you’re vulnerable and they will sort out 2 weeks’ worth of gas / electricity or if you have a smart meter they will top it up. All debts can be collected back through the meter at a rate that is affordable to you.

STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL – HELP WITH FOOD AND MEDICINE
Extremely vulnerable to Coronavirus, you should have received a letter from the NHS telling you what to do to shield yourself from the virus.
If you are extremely vulnerable and do not have a family member, friend or neighbour who can deliver food and medicine to you, you should:

Call the national emergency helpline on 0800 028 8327 https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable

Vulnerable staying at home because you have Coronavirus symptoms, you are over 70, have a pre-existing health condition or you are pregnant and you do not have friends, family or neighbours who can help you, SCC can help - the county council can arrange to supply you with emergency food and care.

STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL – HELP WITH COUNCIL TAX DEBTS
Get in touch with Stafford Borough Council if you have a council tax debt or if bailiffs were collecting and are worried about how to pay it - telephone 01785 619279.
Bristow & Sutor and Rossendale’s are dealing with any cases in accordance with the government guidelines and social distancing means they cannot call at people houses. People can continue using their bar-coded arrangement letter that the enforcement agents have sent them and make regular affordable payments.

STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL – HELP WITH COUNCIL TAX REDUCTION (BENEFIT)
If you can’t afford to pay your council tax because you have a reduced wage or SSP
CTR – Telephone Stafford Borough Council 01785 619478 to ask them to send you a council tax reduction claim form. The claim can be made electronically or by post during the COVID 19 outbreak.

SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – HELP WITH FOOD AND MEDICINE
If you are over 70 or under 70 with underlying health condition are self-isolating and have no friends, neighbours or family to help. You are not alone
Help and support is available for collecting prescriptions – shopping – topping up gas or electricity meters – dog walking – feeling anxious or lonely contact us.

HOW TO CONTACT THE FOODBANKS THAT ARE OPERATING IN STAFFORD STONE AND HUNTINGDON THROUGH THIS CRISIS.

RISING BROOK COMMUNITY CHURCH, Burton Square, Stafford - open to collect food from – Monday – Friday between 9:30am-11:30am.

On our foodbank, people can phone church between 9.30 and 13:00 for same day delivery. Calls received after 13:00 will be processed the following day. Alternatively people can email [email protected] and leave their request and phone number. This will be checked each morning and emails up to 12:30 will be processed the same day.

Food Bank

Food Bank will continue to operate from Rising Brook Community Church, Burton Square, Stafford, ST17 9LT allowing people to come and pick up food bags between 9:30 – 11:30am Monday – Friday. A system is in place allowing people to stay at least 2m apart at all times. Our Food Bank also has a delivery service for those who are unable to collect food bags from the Centre.
