Last week I posted a short video explaining the basics behind facet syndrome and how it can cause low back pain in golfers. This picture shows the importance of a posterior pelvic tilt in the downswing to prevent facet compression and pain!

❌Left side- These pictures show excessive lumbar extension and an anterior or forward pelvic tilt or S-posture at address, pelvic rotation but not a posterior or backward pelvic tilt through the down swing, and right sided low back compression after impact.

This is one of the leading causes of dominant side back pain in golfers!

✅Right side- These pictures show a neutral spine at address, a posterior pelvic tilt and right to left rotation before impact, and minimal right sided low back compression after impact!

Swing like the pictures on the right and you will likely increase power and distance and prevent back pain!

A TPI Certified Physical Therapist can help decrease restrictions that cause poor swing mechanics and can give you corrective exercises to improve your motor control and ability to perform a posterior pelvic tilt!
