As many of you know, Swamp Daddy's Cajun Kitchen is facing yet another challenge beyond its control. A Glycol leak in the building directly above the restaurant has forced this small family-owned business to close temporarily as it is a complete loss, displacing it’s staff for several weeks, even months.

Swamp Daddy’s is strongly tied to our community and this is our opportunity, as a community, to support them!

I am Ashlee (SD) and I’m asking you all for help for my long time friend Ashley and her son Keeten (MN)

The morning of Nov 9 Keeten stepped off the school bus and collapsed, unconscious, he was taken by ambulance and spent the rest of the afternoon in the ER and was later released. Nov 10 he was rushed to the ER by ambulance a second time but was again released. Nov 11 he collapsed again and was taken by ambulance a 3rd time. They were referred to the Pediatric Department in Rochester. Nov 12 echo showed a healthy heart but shortly after, Keeten had 3 episodes with multiple specialists witnessing yet still no answers. Nov 13 Keeten was released with a heart monitor. At last weeks follow up appointment the Doctor reviewed 2 years of medical records and found Keetens blood pressure has been high since this past February. As well as, lab results taken from his first episode til now show concerns with kidney function. Nov 29 Keeten collapsed at school. And again at school Dec 1, he was taken by ambulance. He was released after 1.5 hours. Later that evening Keeten collapsed again and Ashley had to perform CPR on her son, he was taken by ambulance. Again, they were released. He’s been taken from school by ambulance 4 times since Nov 9 and now, is not allowed back without medical clearance. He has been taken to the hospital by ambulance a total of 8 times in less than a month. His episodes are daily but not all have required him to go to the hospital. They’ve done ct scans, X-rays, blood work, an echocardiogram, multiple ekgs and the holster monitor. Keeten’s most recent episode lasted 2 hours, in and out of consciousness. These episodes are becoming more frequent, larger and lasting longer. Ashley shared videos with me from Sundays episodes, the worst yet. Keeten’s body limp and lifeless, his body jolting awake with each brief moment of consciousness. The fear and confusion on his face brought me to tears. My heart absolutely breaks for Ashley and their family to have witnessed this over and over again. He had two seizures last night.

Dec 6 Ashley and Keeten will be traveling to Sioux Falls for an appointment at Sanford’s Children’s Hospital. I am asking her community and mine, all friends and family. If you can please donate even $5 to help my dear friend and her family cover medical costs, travel, lost wages, food, etc.

Keeten is only 14 years old with no answers as to why this is happening to him. Keeten is a big brother, plays football and enjoys spending time with his friends. He is unable to do the things he loves for fear of his safety. The spirit of him and his family is broken as they desperately seek a diagnosis. Please donate, pray and send all the good vibes.
