I'm thrilled to show y'all the premiere creation in my Passion Project series: the "Mingo Falls" quilt!

I created this spread to challenge my skills & artistry. 🧩 In assembling the quilt, I plunged into 2 sewing techniques:

No trip to Mountain QuiltFest would be complete without a little (okay, a bunch of) shopping! 💃🛍 I felt like a fashionista at a designer sale, digging into all the nifty tools, high thread counts, and vibrant patterns.

I couldn’t resist stocking up on Northcott Fabrics cuts:

I shopped with new ideas for future collections in mind. 🛍💃 Now, I’m ready sew pieces that capture Smoky Mountain features. I'm imagining:

Mountain QuiltFest was filled with inspiring quilts 🤩 ones much more than pieces of cloth stitched together.

Quilts are already spectacular and comforting. They're "proof of love." Proof of the time, expense, and labor poured into creating a gift for our loved ones.

But as a fellow quilter, I'm astonished by the artistry, challenge, and heartfelt dedication behind these 3 showstoppers:

I spent Wed & Thurs at Mountain Quiltfest, and it was an absolute blast!

If you haven't heard of it, it's where quilting enthusiasts assemble for a gallery & tradeshow in Pigeon Forge.

Where we admire rows of spectacular quilts + shop aisles for the latest fabrics & supplies. I'll gush about 3 stunning pieces later, but first ...

The most 🪅festive🪅 part was catching up with Amanda, the brilliant creator of the fandom fashions behind Eternal Stitch Studio. 🧶 We had a ball exploring together!

I remember sitting in the church pews, listening to the congregation's voices rise in harmony. The melody to a hymn fills the air.

Later, humming the lyrics with children, passing along songs of worship for our Lord. 🎶🐦Today, my heart still swells with comfort of these familiar words.

I've already picked the fabrics that I'm pretty sure I want to use. But, the set always changes as I go along.

Sometimes, what I thought would work doesn't fit. And sometimes, better ideas present themselves!

I love fiddle faddling with the pallete and coordinating the pieces!

Most of these pieces made it onto my "Deer in Winter Woods" crossbody.
