How about a little cat bapping to start off the winter break?
I had settled for a long winter’s nap
Snug in my blankets like a good old chap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a bapping
I sprang from my bed, slippers a’flapping.
I turn on the lights and look through the glass
To see cats bapping each other with cuteness and sass.
My catnip bushes had all but been shredded
And a cat take-over was now dreaded.
I whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now Orange! Now White! Now Tuxedo and Striped!
On Cali! On, Tort! On Spotted and Short!
Flee from my plants! Flee from my yard!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away hard!”
As leaves that swirled around feral cats
They ignored my words and added more baps:
The rest of my garden and trees got the claws;
Windows were streaked with smudges of paws.
A few made aim for my lighted décor
Flinging the lights as they bapped some more.
Snowmen fell flat while cats ran from sight—
Only “Merry Christmas to all” was still standing this night.
I hope everyone has a happy holiday, however you spend it!

Thanksgiving week is over—what was accomplished? A cat was the most successful hunter during that deer season week, but my writing progress was killer. How was your Turkey break? Check out today’s post, “When the Cat Gets Black Friday,” on WrathofKitties.com.

Speaking of muffins, we'd just got back from a trip, so Elsa had been living off only cat food for the weekend. And her first act of catness? I make myself a muffin, turn my back to get a beverage, then find her on the counter inhaling my food. She is a cute twatwaffle sometimes.
Things have been busy, and I've been making slow writing progress. I've been happy with it though and am deciding on my next wip. This week I plan to get a lot of writing done, so we'll see how that plays out.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Where were you when the feline funnies came to town? Front row claws? High five-paws? Or caught sawing logs? Catnip, Plushie Balls, and Q-Tips is going on a blog tour—check out details posts for the details and read about my kitchen ghost! “Catnip Book Goes on Tour,” on WrathofKitties.com.

Halloween is just around the corner, and I’m looking forward to it! It’s my favorite holiday, and I’ve got my costume picked out: a shirt featuring the Grim Reaper drinking coffee and holding a cat. Plus a witch’s hat. Sure, not a traditional costume, but I’m more comfy over fashion, and plan on passing out candy with the neighbors.
How are you getting your spook on this season?

Or enjoy the book yourself with the cat in your lap. Or wrap yourself in a burrito blanket to enjoy these cat antics. Whatever works for you.

Elsa’s smart. She appears disinterested while my husband dangles something and when his guard is down she snatches like a kid with candy and runs away. He found this out once when cleaning his glasses and she left them right under the middle section of the bed. That cat knows how to show she's Queen.
I would love to say I'm speedy at writing like Elsa is with her steals, but alas I'm a turtle. Slow and steady, or at least, slow and thinking about writing.
This Saturday Catnip, Plushie Balls, and Q-Tips becomes available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Kobo, and other places books are sold. Check it out or be on the lookout for my announcement next week!
How can a headache and back pain lead to a silver platter involving cats? Yes, there are always cats (mostly). But hey, it combined relaxing and work, and led to a great post. Check out “When Back Pain Brings Cats” on WrathofKittes.com.
Also, Catnip, Plushie Balls, and Q-Tips is now on pre-order on Amazon! Search the title or “M.G. Rorai” to find it.

Looking forward to the weekend. Will work prevail? Or will my reading plus a festival? The kitties are happy as long as there are treats and a window.
Have a great weekend!

Elsa’s favorite? A monkey keychain she likes to sling around all. the. time. Slap! Slap! Slap! Goes the keychain at night, so my husband hides it in an effort for silence. Sometimes she runs off with it and wakes us up later in the am.
This week has started out busy, but I’ve gotten some writing in. The words have been slow, but at least they’re getting on the page. I'm not overwhelmed yet. Hopefully your week has been manageable too.
Prelude: I meant to post this yesterday morning before work, but the car died on the highway, I went back to the house to get a backup car (I should make a post about those), and finally got to work just as the greyhound was pulling out to take faculty to our PD. So it was somewhat of a frazzled morning.
Back to today’s blurb for my blog post:
It’s so hot outside eggs fry themselves in the steam coming off the pavement. So it’s important to be efficient when working outside. But tell that to my Husband. At least I’ve been making headway in my writing—check out today’s post for more info in “Temp 112F? Inside is Calling,” on WrathofKitties.com

"Be all you can be! You've got this!"
..Looks at weekend coming.
Yeah, I'm going to be all I can be in the sheets; on the couch; in my favorite chair.
Everyone have a great respite!
Writing is hard work! “It was a dark and stormy night…”
Well that seems taken.
“...the best of times, the worst of times…”
Hmmm… pretty sure that’s been used too.
Bo**er spray; plushies; tongue-hairs…there’s bound to be something to join the purrrfects of literature. Or at least on Catster.
Do you have a favorite opening line?

Hello again! *brushes away social media dust bunnies* It's me, formerly MGSpear, now Wrath of Kitties Writing
It's been awhile. Been busy, started a new position--but the cool news is I'm getting back into the swing of things with writing, starting with a new brand strategy since I write under different pen names these days. I've redone my website, updated and and adjusted some of my books, and looking for a fresh second round. Official blog post set to come out Wednesday, with more details.
Here's to a different kind of launch.

Numbers and words—not everyone’s good at both. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and the trick is to harness technology to make it look like we are professionals. Do you trust me to do your taxes now? Check out today’s post, “Strength and Weaknesses,” on MGSpear.com.
