Mondays are rest days for many of us, so why not spend your active recovery and show some TLC for your bike?⠀
⠀
‘A clean bike is a fast bike’, said a great man and needless to say, keeping your bike squeaky clean can extend the life of your cycle’s moving parts like cassette and chain. In this short video, we show you how to clean your drivetrain easily at home: ⠀
⠀
■ What is the drivetrain? ⠀
⠀
The drivetrain consists of all the different parts that help to push or pull the bike - it includes the chainrings, the cassette, the pedals, the cranks and the derailleur. ⠀
⠀
■ Why should you clean the drivetrain?⠀
⠀
Besides increasing the life of your wearables, cleaning your drivetrain also helps in smoother gear shifting and also a much more enjoyable ride. And isn’t there a certain thrill in riding a clean and shiny bike? ⠀
⠀
■ How often should you clean your drivetrain? ⠀
⠀
If you ride a lot, make sure you clean your drivetrain every two weeks. Alternatively, whenever you feel that the gear shifting isn’t that smooth (due to dirt and grime), it’s time to clean that drivetrain! ⠀

For the longest while, women athletes often trained and ate like their male counterparts. The research and science on female athletes, biology and anatomy was largely ignored.
It was only recently that scientists actually found out that a woman’s menstrual cycle plays a major role while training and exercising.
At Indian Triathlon Network HQ, we have a female triathlete (and we are big proponents of inclusivity) who discovered ’s trailblazing book ‘Roar’. In this book, Dr Stacy (a triathlete herself) talks about the fact that women are not small men and that nutrition and training for a woman athlete is different.
In this post, we given you a glimpse of the menstrual cycle and how the major phases in the cycle affect a female athlete’s performance, mood and training. Keeping track of the menstrual cycle (on a calendar, via smart watches like or on Apps) can provide a gamut of information that will help a female athlete to train smarter.
Head to our link in the bio to take a deep dive into the workings of the menstrual cycle and train smarter and better!
