Peace✌🏾 and Love💛 and Music 🎶
Make Music Day 2020 is fast approaching on the 21st June. This day is a free celebration of music around the world allowing all kinds of musicians whether amateur or professional to perform in various public locations.
Here is a clip from last year's Make Music Day at Canada Water Library. To the Tam Bam team this meant a lot to us as this was our first ever performance!
We will be submitting our new composition video for this year so keep an eye out for that one!

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Due to the coronavirus pandemic we have been unable to bless you guys with footage of performances etc. However please STAY TUNED as we have some exciting projects to showcase this summer! With Panorama and Notting Hill Carnival cancelled this year, we will continue the spirit of carnival throughout the rest of 2020 with the sweet sound of Pan - TAM BAM style!

Good evening TamBammers! Hope you all enjoyed Christmas so far! Our last workshop of the year will be tomorrow (But no need to worry, we are back running again in 2020!) Level 6 Peckham Levels, workshop runs from 2pm to 5pm then a 1 hour performance from 5 to 6pm to round off the day! Hope to see you all there!♪♪♫♬♭♮♯😁

What a night last night! it was A-ma-zing😆 Miss Delphina James is once again in her element as she teaches and supports individuals to learn their notes...

Tam Bam would like to thank St. George's Church in Shirley, Croydon for having us perform and celebrate with them at their 1st Black History Month concert. We also ran into British Calypsonian Alexander D Great who performed some of his compositions. What a great evening!

DJ B. Eazi closed the night with a jam setting the right the vibe for an evening of fun, frolics and flowing drinks......we marked the occasion with a cake made courtesy of Mystique cakes. We shared it with our audience, family and friends.... until next time. Peace.Love.Tam Bam & Pan✊😁

The team would like to say thank you to all the people who helped make our Pan Jam a success on Saturday 28th September. A special thanks goes out to Jacob and the team at Peckham Levels, Zib from the Peckham Gallery, Mystique cakes, Kobgas Catering and DJ B. Eazi for bringing what you do best to make our pan jam the best 🥳👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Here’s a few highlights from the day....
TAM BAM
Tam Bam Steel Orchestra Academy is a Community Interest Company based in South East London. Founded in April 2019 by Nadine McLeary alongside fellow musicians Delphina “Panness”James and Mikhail Caga-Anan (who first met while performing in Europe’s most decorated steel band). Together they embark on a new journey, to continue performing while conducting workshops designed to explore music on the steel pan: The only acoustic non-electrical musical instrument to be made in the 20th century.
The teaching of the rich history and culture around the steel pan is the core of what sets TBSOA apart as the first of its kind in Southwark. These lessons will be led by Nadine, a former Early Years Educator bringing a wealth of experience, who after spending years as a steel band member became inspired to break new ground beyond just performing. This led to the concept of using the knowledge and benefits of the steel pan scene for the benefit of the wider community.
To compliment to this, Mikhail combines his years as researcher of cardiovascular sciences, his passion for health and fitness, with his history as a steel band performer to support the students as developing pannists. TBSOA recognises that the health and well-being of its students is paramount to their success, mastery of the steel pan is a surprisingly strenuous discipline after all.
Music theory and steel pan tuition will be led by Delphina. With over 20 years’ experience as a steel pannist, Delphina’s career has seen her perform in over 10 countries, while accumulating numerous credits for original compositions for steel bands across Europe. Most recently, Delphina has recorded an album of steel pan renditions for electronic music pioneers KraftWerk. She currently works as a Peripatetic music tutor for two music services in London.
