One of my favourite orders from the last few weeks. I’ve been working on some new designs this week, including this fabulously rainbow-bright name. These are 30cm across so great for a wall display, cut from 3mm MDF and hand painted in my favourite acrylics. What do we think? They will be listed on Etsy later in the week!

Christmas may be long gone but I’m still getting orders for personalised decorations - well done lovely customers on being super organised for Christmas 2021! 🎄😆
I’ve painted these personalised paw print baubles in so many different colour schemes, but these two are some of my favourites so far - navy blue and racing green, both finished with touches of warm gold 🌟 I love it when I get a request from a customer for a style or set of colours that I wouldn’t have thought to try myself and they turn out so well!

New year, new products! After the madness of the festive period and with little miss H now at nursery 5 mornings a week, I finally have time to work on expanding our product range!
Here’s a little sneaky peak of a new name plaque design for all the dinosaur 🦕 🦖 lovers out there. So new the paint hasn’t even dried yet! Coming to our Etsy shop very soon.... 👀

This has been a whirlwind of a year at Polka Dot HQ. 2020 saw me finally start the business I’d been dreaming about for years, but within a few weeks of officially launching I was caught up in the fall out from a global pandemic - homeschooling, supply shortages (sod toilet roll, do you know how hard it was to get your hands on acrylic paint, photo frames or a new desk??) and so much more.

It’s been a bit of a rough ride but the year finished on a high with Christmas sales I could only have dreamed about when I set up this account less than 12 months ago. The Polka Dot Rainbow Etsy shop is going from strength to strength and I have so many plans for the new year to diversify and grow the business. Scary, but exciting times!

As Manchester goes into 2021 under the restrictions of Tier 4, I am thankful for my health, my lovely customers...... and for that last IKEA trip that we managed to squeeze in this week before all the shops closed!! Let’s all raise a glass and hope that 2021 is less of a sh*tstorm 🥂

It has been an EXHAUSTING couple of months - I shouldn’t moan because I’d certainly rather be busy than quiet, but wow who knew so many people would want to buy personalised Christmas decorations! 🎄 I haven’t had time to even think about posting on here in forever, I promise I’ll try to do better in the new year! 🙈

Anyway I finally got to make something Christmassy for my own family today - a shiny new replacement for our old Christmas Eve box (which I made in a rush a couple of years ago from a big delivery box which happened to be green!). I love how all the little details have turned out and can’t wait to see the kids’ faces when they see it in the morning!

We have a 3 year old who is really only just understanding what Christmas is about which is lovely; the older two are 8 and 10 and the oldest I think is on the verge of not believing any more. Hope the goodies and letter from the big man 🎅🏼 convince him for another year 🤞

Interesting fact: A group of penguins in the water is called a raft but on land they’re called a waddle! You learn something new every day don’t you? Whatever we’re calling them, this army of newly painted cute little penguin decorations is making me smile on this otherwise uneventful Monday! 🐧
