Alright friends…it’s time to talk yoga pants.
One would think I would know the answer to this question, but I can’t seem to find what I am looking for anymore…
Lululemon used to be amazing but they have changed in quality over the years.
Here are my asks:
1. High waisted. And that waistband needs to stay put!
2. Thick. Good, compressive fabric that moves with me but doesn’t crawl into places it doesn’t belong.
3. Not see through. No bumps. Smooth. No cellulite showing though.
Thoughts? Experiences?

I am back on the mat and my knee is almost there- Not perfect, but much better- and I am ready to get back on the mat with you. And I MISS YOU!
From October until December we will meet twice a week for 35 min to get back into our bodies together.

But is it?
Like you, I woke up and checked the news on my phone only to be gutted by the most recent and devastating mass shooting in America. Probably like you, I am angry, sad, and worried. And possibly like you, I have no idea where to put my grief. I have so many opinions and ideas of how we can stop this but I am left with the question, “How can i??”
As I kissed my children goodbye this morning, I cried thinking of the parents who kissed their children yesterday and received unthinkable news at the days end. It is senseless and devastating and it must stop.
I don’t have all the answers, not by a long shot, but here is what I am offering:
1. Come and practice with me. Put down the phone for 45 minutes and join me to move through your grief. Grief that is not physically processed stays in the body. Let’s help it through.
2. Each cent I make this week will go towards

Our theme? Balance.
In class, this will look like a thorough warm up to get the heat rate up, deep leg work and long holds to build strength and balance, and an extra breath work to soothe the central nervous system. Even if you only have 30 min, join me. Even if you can only take 15 min of class, join me. I do email recordings, so if you want to take part but you can’t, let me know and I will send you a recording.
I don’t know how to end this devastating violence, but I do know creating a supportive, loving community helps.
I look forward to seeing you and moving through this together.

2. Listening to Reading Lo**ta in Tehran by . I never got around to reading it years ago and decided to finally listen to it via audiobook. It’s beautiful.
3. Arugula. Sliced pears. Chickpeas. Pecorino cheese. Chopped hazelnuts. Balsamic glaze. Olive oil. Touch of salt.

No livestream class this week...I am busy preparing for the next Embody Your Body Commitment and I think this will be the best one yet! Truly. I am sifting though the vaults and taking my own classes (Oh my goodness! Legs are killer...and don’t even get me started on hearing my own voice over video...cringe!!)

We were scheduled to attend an English Christmas Carol Concert at a beautiful church near the Spanish Steps...and I completely forgot and didn’t remember until 2am. I thought about it in the morning. Then completely forgot until 2am. Not even a hint of remembering. Sigh.
Can you relate?
I am really looking forward to teaching 2 live stream classes this week! (Clearly I need them...) Roll out that mat the night before, sleep in something you can practice in, and join me @ 7am EST.

Newest obsession?
Church floors. Seriously, I just love the floors. Often, the frescoes and domes steal the show in Italian churches, and really, that’s for good reason. They are incredible. But recently, I have started noticing the beauty beneath my feet. Intricate patterns, colors, and stories. The floors in italian churches are just as beautiful as what’s above.
This snapshot is from the floor in Sant Andrea delle Valle in Rome. It’s a beautiful baroque church and this design caught my eye. It was a small detail, over to the side and I loved the color combination and curves. I love patterns, especially in floors, and…you know I love anything black.
This week, inspired by the curves in this floor, we will work on twisting, lengthening, and creating space in the spine so you can reset any unnatural curves that may be forming from sitting or standing too long. After this weekend of being on my feet, my back is feeling as stiff as this marble floor and I look forward to moving with you to reset.

so I can carry 2 heavy grocery bags on my arms while I walk up a huge hill. Did you know Rome is full of hills? Yep, and I live on one of them. No problem, carrefour bags, I’ve got this 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I have NEVER been more grateful for my yoga and barre practice than today. My family and I are moving to Rome, Italy for a year abroad and today was lift off! I have carried 4 (yes, 4) bags on my shoulders, held my son up twice to use the bathroom and wash his hands, taken my clothes and gear off and on to get through security, and carried an over tired child on my shoulders. Here’s the thing- I COULD DO IT. Easily. Barre and yoga have made me so strong and my endurance was surprising. I am so grateful. And excited what’s to come. I’ll be teaching my weekly class on Monday…see you then!! Xo, Kate
