Uganda Coffee Update: Kyagalanyi Coffee has a thriving sustainability program which practices farming as a business. Among other things they developed Coffee Youth Teams through which young people are trained as coffee farmer consultants. Students are taught to manage demonstration plots and Volcafe model farms. The model farms allow area farmers to learn best practices and see what they can achieve via working with the youth teams, using tools such as stumping, intercrop growing and pruning trees.
