In Memoriam
In memory of our unconditional fan, supporter, equipment manager, chef, and mentor… we are sad to share that our beloved “Chelita” (Graciela Catacora) passed away in her native La Paz, Bolivia on July 15th.
For those that had the opportunity to know Chelita, she was like an Aunt to all of us who played in the adult teams; and the biggest enthusiast of the youth teams. While many will undoubtedly remember her for her amazing baking and cooking skills (who can forget her empanadas, alfajores or chocolate desserts!)… it was her smile, timid laughter and steady presence that transcends and brought us together.
During our traditional Asados, End of Season Parties and Toca Fests, she would work tirelessly from the dawn to dust. On a weekly basis, she would quietly wash the team uniforms and would pack them for the upcoming match. And yes, she always had empanadas ready for the team to savor after our Sunday matches.
But, more importantly, she represents the ultimate club volunteer and what has made Toca so special to this day. Just like a central midfielder recovering ball after ball for the team to win matches, Chelita and our countless volunteers make Toca a special place to share time with friends.
In loving memory, we celebrate her life and endless energy.
Chelita, your memory and laughter will stay with the club forever!
