Did you notice that COVID-19 has basically changed our ways of living and has considerably transformed our teaching and learning patterns? And though we tried to incorporate the ZOOM and MOODLE platforms into our class curriculum, for some students conference calls are still the most difficult thing they have to do in English.
Here we’ve put together a list of useful words and phrases to use on a conference call. Can you remember some more?

My Dear Colleagues, Students and Friends,
The year 2019 is drawing to a close and it’s a good time to look back on the ideas we have generated, the plans we have implemented and the accomplishments we have made this year through our joint efforts and endeavors. However, the most notable achievement we can all pride ourselves on has undoubtedly been the launch of the Resource Centre, the main function of which has been to create an environment conducive to improving both the students’ and the staff’s English language proficiency level. Taking this opportunity I would like to extend my profuse thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work, passion, and the significant part you have taken in the establishment of the Centre. Much of the credit for the Centre’s success is due to the work continually carried out by the staff of the Chair of Foreign Languages and by all those who gain pleasure from imparting their knowledge and expertise to our students through in-class and out-of-class activities. Many thanks also go to our students and all our followers for their willingness to cooperate with us. We could not have achieved a commendable result without their great wish to willingly contribute to the Clubs’ activities through their active participation and their useful feedback on our work.
I truly consider you all an invaluable asset to our Centre.
Now, let me, on behalf of the Resource Centre and the Chair of Foreign Languages, wish you and your families a joyous and restful festive season. Let the year 2020 bring you happiness, prosperity, life optimism, and professional achievements, and let it be marked with long-awaited moments and fulfilled wishes.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Head of the Resource Centre
