Fleetwood Coronavirus Online Help & Support Update 29-03-20

Hello all,

Today we would like to draw your attention to the wonderful work of Fleetwood Together.

Fleetwood Together are a newly formed support service made up of different organisations and charities to help the local people of Fleetwood who are struggling as a result of the current situation.

They can provide those in need with financial advice, food packages, a listening ear for those feeling isolated and are also well placed to signpost people to other organisations who can help with different issues. If you need help or know of someone who might, their contact details are as below:

Email: [email protected]
Phone: 01253 774313
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FleetwoodTogether/

*Fleetwood Together have also recently begun to distribute a flyer with their contact information which should be reaching residents who are not social media connected in the coming days & weeks.

The Fleetwood Coronavirus Online Help and Support page (and group) are here to continue to provide a community online and are pleased to be able to supplement the wonderful work of Fleetwood Together by sharing appeals for help and getting information to those who need it.
Wyre Borough Council is also building a hub to offer similar support throughout Wyre so we will share the details of this with you as soon as possible as well.

We know many kind group members have already offered help through this page but we cannot pass on information to Fleetwood Together without each individuals permission so... ..if you can help with anything at all such as donations or volunteering please contact them directly via email -

[email protected]

We will be withdrawing from collecting information and storing it ourselves and in future would encourage any wonderful volunteers to contact Fleetwood Together so they can co-ordinate the provision of this practical help.

We appreciate all your input and support for each other, it's wonderful to see that continuing care and kindness from the Fleetwood community ๐Ÿ™‚

We hope you still continue to use the group to ask for and offer support with posts if it feels appropriate, such as a query about where to get certain supplies from or to offer some information on homeschooling resources, etc. And you are welcome to message the admins through the page if there's something you think we could help with.
(If you have a query or issue that is primarily practical or urgent we would encourage contacting Fleetwood Together direct as per the above contact info as they have the resources to get back to you sooner and provide that more immediate formal help)

Within our small admin team we have some key workers, some in self isolation and we are also all balancing family commitments so please bear with us as we try to navigate these difficult weeks too. If there are any delays on approving posts and providing responses - please know that we'll be here as much as we can and will help members whenever able.
We will of course continue to share all the relevant local information we come across and promote the many uplifting posts from our lovely members to keep up this online community of support going!

Take care and be kind to each other, and yourselves ๐Ÿ™‚

Over the coming weeks, please think before calling Police 101 for general enquires or to report non-emergencies.
If you need to report a non-emergency, you can do so quickly and easily on their website: http://tiny.cc/p8lolz
For queries such as animal welfare, clean streets, grounds maintenance, bin collections, planning questions, highways/parking issues, suspected benefit fraud and fly tipping, Wyre Borough Council is better placed to help.

๐Ÿšจ During the current Covid-19 pandemic we need your help to ensure we can continue to be there for you when you need us the most.

So, for things like animal welfare, clean streets, grounds maintenance, bin collections, planning questions, highways/parking issues, suspected benefit fraud and fly tipping, your local council is better placed to help.

Fleetwood Coronavirus Help and Support has been set up by Fleetwood residents to help the local community during this unprecedented time. It consists of this page - which will post out vital information and serve as a point of contact for important queries - and also has a corresponding Facebook group where members can share and interact in a variety of ways.

Our core aim is to connect people and to encourage the offering of neighbourly support to each other โ€“ either directly, or by utilising the group as a forum โ€“ to offer help and to request help. We are not here to replace the work of any local authorities, registered charities, or the medical / emergency services, and we cannot offer medical advice or complex support; however, we are hoping to complement the ongoing, incredible work of these organisations.

The page and group will be monitored by our admin volunteers as closely as possible, between 9:00am and 9:00pm, seven days a week. If responses are slow, please bear with us as we continue to approve membership requests & posts, and respond to your queries.
