Donna’s Landscape Design
Your friendly neighborhood gardener
Bougainvillea comes in several colors. I chose this beauty. Don’t over water as they thrive in dryer climates. If your’s is green but isn’t blooming, cut back on the water and fertilize with a fertilizer high in calcium nitrite. This is what I use for beautiful blooms!
Or make your own:
Bougainvillea fertilizer: To a container of water add a handful of white rice, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tbsp white vinegar. Water twice with this mixture to get to bloom

And this is why one shouldn’t plant a Live Oak in a neighborhood 60’ size front yard. 😱
The same oak tree, 125 years apart.. (Thomasville, Georgia)
Did you know trees need air? Building up “volcanoes” around a tree harms it by blocking out oxygen. Here’s 3 photos to show you the process.
300+ trees in my neighborhood are dying due to the installers building up a volcano around each tree. What a sad and costly mistake!
Be a sunflower in a field of wildflowers 🌻
Congratulations to my customers for winning Yard of the Month! I made over their yard a little over a year ago.
Closed for summer - not recommended to plant in 90+*
One day turnaround on this full redo. Grateful for good helpers!
Complete redo. I’m always grateful for homeowners placing trust in me to make plant choices for them.
A couple of planters for a friend.
Just finished this landscaping job. Complete redo.
I’ve never been asked to create a white garden but I’d love to. So peaceful!

This was an experiment by a kindergarten class. They dropped seeds in the cracks of the sidewalk to see what would happen, an instant pollinator strip!

What Happens If You Pull Out This Common Backyard Plant 🌿The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies
A lifetimes work! Don’t take that honey for granted! 🐝🐝
It’s getting hot! I’ll be working through the end of May then taking a break for summer. Contact me soon for your free landscape design consultation.
Much thanks to my helpers last week, Renee & Lukasz! I couldn’t have figured out that sod cutter without you!
The homeowners asked for a “model home look”. We enlarged the garden beds, added topiaries, a palm & flowering bushes. Lots of colors, textures & different blooming seasons.
Plants need a few things to thrive - sun, water, fertilizer & AIR! We may be doing everything right but then unwittingly smother the plants & trees with mulch. 🌴🌸
Foxtail Fern roots are not playin’! I’d highly recommend if you want these to only plant with other Foxtail Ferns. The roots invade into the roots of other plants.
Great idea for protecting young trees in winter
This was a homeowner-assisted frontyard redo. I love working with homeowners. They learn a few of my planting secret tricks & how to maintain their new landscaping. The front flowerbeds was huge so we shrunk it. Sod arrived the next day.
Busy week! 3 big jobs this week but this was a 1-day complete frontyard redo.
Removed everything but the sago. Added 2 Topiaries, a row of Walters Viburnum, a row of Pittosporum, Robellini Date palm, crotons, yellow petunias,Lantana, foxtail ferns. Moved 4 Ilex Schillings around to the side. Much gratitude to Tamara who is my hard-working, funny, faithful sidekick! 🌴🌼👩🏻🌾
