Hey everyone, hope all of you are staying safe in this heat. Just a reminder that there is no meeting this month, but we look forward to seeing everyone August 19th. Please be thinking of ways to raise funds or ideas on what we can do during Fall fest in town.
Some great news! This is a project that we discussed at our last meeting.
We want to give a big thank you to the Gilmont Sevice Club and Mount Gilead Police Department! The Gilmont Club made a donation of $500.00 for coats for kids. Coats, toboggans, and gloves were purchased from that donation. We are forever thankful to have such wonderful supportive community members! 💜🐊

Gilmont Service Club is pressure washing the concrete area outside of the MGES playground.

Mount Gilead Pickle-ball Update
Per Club member, Bruce Haywood:
Yesterday at the Pickle-ball courts, we had 25 people competing in the new series called the “Star of Stanback.” This is a “King of the Court” type of competition. We will have this event each Saturday in May, weather permitting, leading up to a tournament on the 27th (Memorial Day weekend) at 1:30 PM unless otherwise posted. All are welcome!
Saturday May 27th

The Gilmont Service Club is putting on a Saturday Night One-Pitch. Games will start around 3PM.
All proceeds for this tournament will go towards Wreaths across America.
Entry $200
5HRs a game
$15 Home Run bands and Foul Ball Bands (3per team)
This tournament is for men and women. If women play they will receive a good foul. This tournament is open to anyone, so women can play if they so choose.
This tournament will be apart of all the towns Festivities on May 27th. Get your team ready and come enjoy the day in Mt. Gilead.

Our Club has officially been approved for the NC Adopt-A-Highway program! We have adopted Lilly’s Bridge Rd from Hydro Rd to Tyler’s Way (a distance of 1.97 miles). Out first pickup will be scheduled prior to July 11th. Just one more way the Gilmont Club is making a difference in our community!
Co-ed softball, today at Mt Gilead ball field on Park Ave. The Gilmont Service Club softball league kicks off today. Play will commence at 3pm each Sunday with final tournament on Saturday, May 13th. No spectator entry fee.
