Just a flashback.
Some names may have changed , but the health of Bruce Rock is still very much catered for .

Much to be proud of...

In a time when small country towns are dwindling and their future is uncertain, Bruce Rock can proudly boast a resident doctor, dentist and pharmacist all living within the town. Not only that, but Bruce Rock's doctor has been in town for 14+ years and their dentist 13+ years!

Bruce Rock Medical Centre Practice Manager, Sam Aurisch shares her thoughts on the strength and resilience of the Bruce Rock community.

"Like a lot of country towns in recent times there has been much soul searching to overcome the drop in population and decline in services. The ever-increasing threat of online shopping has been blamed in some instances, as well as the fact that our children go away to boarding schools earlier. Many factors have impacted on our communities, but it will be the resilient and resourceful towns that make it through.

"Bruce Rock has state-of-the-art sporting facilities such as a synthetic bowling rink, a national standard synthetic hockey turf, football oval, synthetic tennis courts, hydro-pool and heated aquatic swimming pool. Much of which would rival our city cousins; why wouldn’t you want to live here?

"The air is clean and the children can still safely ride their bikes to our award-winning District High School. The checkout lady/man knows you by name and will even carry your groceries to the car. We foster a village existence where people care about you and where you’ve come from.

"It is possible to own your own house and live a very comfortable lifestyle. We have also recently had eight self-contained aged-care units (C.E.A.C.A) built that can be rented or bought. We really need to sell this as the magnet to suburbia strengthens.

"There are certain incentives available to attract new business, including affordable rent and space for storage. Modern technology has allowed us to use the internet as the conduit to advertise and sell to a wider market, which means you don’t need to be on the city doorstep.

"If we can get back to the basics and embrace a simpler life without the fast-paced life of technology, neon lights and apartment living. You might be surprised how life can be easier and more wholesome."

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚

Telstra will be upgrading its mobile base station in Bruce Rock by adding additional infrastructure to bring new 5G coverage, but the works will require a series of temporary outages or reduction in mobile coverage.

These improvement works will temporarily impact Telstra mobile coverage and performance in Bruce Rock and surrounds. Customers in Bruce Rock are likely to experience slower than usual data speeds from 18th March till 22nd March 2024.

𝐎𝐧 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟎𝟕𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 ‘𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫.

Telstra mobile customers will receive text messages advising of the upcoming work.

Landline services, NBN internet services and mobile coverage from other providers will not be impacted. Any calls to Triple Zero from a Telstra mobile when the site is off air will automatically be diverted to any working mobile network for connection to emergency services.

If all goes according to plan and weather permitting the mobile upgrade will be completed on the 22nd March 2024.
