This Morning I bring to you the man with mantle of leadership, General Chikelue iloenyosi is Cristiano Ronaldo of Anambra State. We will be Alberto Fantrau of Portugal to MR Chikelue this time. Alberto Fantrau said Cristiano Ronaldo is better than I Mr Fantrau. General Chikelue is a man with a leadership quality and as such is good for FA Chairman Anambra state. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has again stepped into the Anambra FA crisis upholding a protest filed by Chikelue Iloenyosi.

Iloenyosi had in a petition against the Anambra FA scribe, Chijioke Onyedika faulted the decision of the FA to hold an emergency congress.

The Anambra FA had during the emergency congress decided to annul the appeal committee verdict ordering election into the yet to be filled chairmanship position in two weeks.

Iloenyosi had insisted that the emergency congress was an illegal one aimed at scuttling his chairmanship ambition.

The NFF in a letter to Anambra FA on Monday stated that the Anambra FA scribe Onyedika has no powers to call the November 30 congress declaring that it is not in line with NFF statutes.

The letter which emanated from the legal department of the NFF Glass House stated in part…”the secretary of the FA cannot exercise the powers of the chairman to convene an extraordinary General Assembly since the board is yet to be duly constituted. The decisions arrived at the extra ordinary general assembly held on 30th November 2020 are null and void.”

The letter stressed that the decision of the Anambra FA appeal committee must be respected since the judgement of the committee is final.

“This is a re-enforcement of the provision of the NFF Electoral Code 2009 to the effect that the decision of the Election Appeals Committee is final.”

As it stands, Chikelue Iloenyosi looks good to claim the mandate which was denied him on October 30 when the issue of simple majority came up.

The appeal committee has since ruled that they did not order for a fresh election but for second balloting where the simple majority rule will now be applied as provided in article 26(2) of NFF statutes.

“This is law in action,” the appeal committee stated.

Anambra FA: What Obiano wants is right man for the job -Iloenyosi

Leading candidate in the forthcoming Anambra State Football Association Election slated for October 30 2020, Chikelue Iloenyosi has cautioned name droppers to leave Governor Willie Obiano out, noting that he has made it clear that he is not interested in who emerges as the next State FA Chairman.

Iloenyosi who spoke in Abuja yesterday noted that Governor Obiano has not endorsed any aspirant and from what the state number one citizen said, he is not interested in who becomes the Chairman and as such whosoever has what will turn the state football around for good and is qualified to occupy the seat is free to contest.

Chikelue who is a Special Adviser to the NFF president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick said he is in the race with a 14 point agenda that would make Anambra great again as home for football noted that the state that produced great football players and clubs like Udoji Utd, Jasper Utd, Gabros Int’l Fc, etc has been in the doldrums as far as football is concerned.

“Name droppers should stop using the governor’s name. He has not endorsed anybody and has no intention to do so.

In fact our hard working governor is not interested in who emerges as the next Chairman of the State FA, all he wants to see is someone who will return the state to her past glory in football.

So, whoever embarks on the dangerous journey of collecting money from a candidate claiming to have the Governor’s approval is doing so at his own peril and may end up in jail.”

He declared that his priority is to revive the moribund grassroots football that will create opportunities for numerous youths who want to have a career in the round leather game but have had their dreams shattered because of poor administration.

Iloenyosi maintained that Anambra will no longer lag behind among other renowned football playing states particularly her South East counterparts when elected.

He noted that as an ex-international and administrator, he has worn the shoes and knows where it pinches, arguing that the problem the state is facing in making great impact in the nation’s football can only be addressed by someone who is passionate about the game and ready to commit both time and resources to take her back on achieving tracks.

According to him, “I have great contacts that will turn football in the state to a money spinner that will not only alleviate the problems of the actors but contribute immensely to the state’s economic development.

This I will do by ensuring that the FA creates a conducive environment for tournaments that will give our youths the opportunity to ply their trade overseas
