Oh yes! This is Sedona. A Bain Architecture house for the nicest newlyweds we ever met and in a place so special, it was only natural to stack rocks like the Ancients to get just the right effect...Did we spoil the views? I don't think so. These people really live in this house - check out the interiors below.

All curves and organic, this home, originally designed for the CEO of a major midwestern corporation by Bain Architecture during the 1990's was transformed into the dream come true for its new owners to fit the surroundings, the atmosphere,and the aesthetics of beautiful Desert Mountain, Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Fisher House in Canyon Reserve South Phoenix. From the immense and immensely beautiful dining room, its magnificent atrium and everyone's dream kitchen - this house has surprises through every door...now if I can only find some close-up of that Bain Architecture designed beautiful lighting fixture over that runway of a dining/executive meeting room table....that Kevin also designed.

Another example of Kevin's beautiful linework and a design that fit the client and the forest so perfectly, the house at Lot 350 Forest Highlands Golf and Country Club, Flagstaff, Arizona immediately grabs a sightseer's attention. his is a perfectly designed family home or retreat in the center of one of the prettiest high country forrest neighborhoods you could ever love.

Clients with an exceptional estate-lot at Forest Highlands Golf and Country Club in Flagstaff, Arizona required a very advanced design 'like no other' for their private retreat. We lovingly refer to this effort as the "Darth Vader" house for its unusual design and interesting exterior features.

A true labor of love and intense coordination with the client, Aspen's renowned Interior Designer Dick Knecht, this beautiful log design home, barn and isolated camp was a dream of a lifetime to grace an exquisite site in Aspen, Colorado, just west of the resorts and isolated just enough to provide almost absolute privacy. It is, without a doubt, Kevin's favorite, and was taken through preliminary designs and redesigns numerous times here at Bain Architecture as the owner rightfully mulled through every aspect then, when ready, we carefully carried through documentation. This exquisite home was, sadly, never built. Perhaps it will take life in another setting - we can only hope.

The VanDenberg residence is another historical renovation placed in a beautiful, upscale (and quite hidden) luxury custom home development in North Phoenix. With it's expansive estate setting, it was a pleasure and honor to take 1950's perfection, keeping its character and providing additional luxury and convenience for this wonderful, active family.

Created for the then CEO of a major corporation, the 10,000 s.f. Fisher residence was built to accommodate their family, and also act as a retreat. The often phhotographed helix stairway at top right extends from the kitchen-area to a third floor office. The home theater sits on the first floor to accommodate family and friends and is adjacent to a fun, upscale commercial theater lobby complete with a large popcorn machine and soda fountain. At lower left, you are seeing only a small part of a very well-appointed kitchen complete with a large cold room and butler's pantry. Upper left is a view through the then-newly furnished formal living room through which can be seen the upper portion of the stairway, the formal dining room and a lovely, large atrium and beyond that, the elevator which serves all levels of the home. Bain Architecture was later contracted with this beautiful home's new owners to add an additional bedroom wing, bringing square footage well above 12,000 s.f.

Much like the Fisher residence, the Foster's in Carefree purchased a hillside lot with fabulous views. This successful use of Kevin's hand rendering ability further developed the plan to pass initial HOA requirements and enabled Bain Architecture and Planning to complete documentation within the family's time frame.

The Historical Cook Residence in Central Phoenix was an example of a home that had changed much since it's very early 1900's construction. A house that had been handed down through the family had a very small bath and kitchen. We were asked to create a more modern home with larger kitchen, bath, and patio areas while maintaining the home's wonderful historical tradition and addressing the family's requests for more usable space. Eventually, most of the house was carefully remodeled to maintain the integrity of the initial beautiful design.

In our design of new custom homes, sensitivity to the land and the views from the interior spaces and exterior living areas of great importance. We create a 360 degrees image standing in the middle of the building envelope, then other photographs or videos to determine the optimal solution for our clients. It is in this way, that windows can be placed with the most magnificent views, and minimizing less appealing aspects, such as adjacent utility risers and neighboring homes.

Working with the Ansbaughs to create this beautiful home in Desert Highlands, Scottsdale Arizona was a challenge. In the shadow of Pinnacle Peak, this unusually shaped lot helped to produce the unusual design on Desert Highlands Golf Club Golf Course.

The Considine Residence at Windy Walk Estates, Troon Village, Scottsdale, Arizona designed by Bain Architecture and Planning, won many design awards through Architecture and Construction magazines. It was an honor to work with these wonderful clients from Rhode Island.
