JUST HOME: Enjoying the winter sun in with the fam ♥️♥️

This year has challenged me on a whole new level and at the end of this summer I came the closest I’ve ever been to physical and mental burnout, the result of a gruelling tour schedule across time zones and then trying to be a mum to a fully fledged night time raver 😵‍💫😂 as well as making music and trying to run my label etc.. (oh and running a marathon too haha) - in all honesty it was too much.

So I decided to take my foot off the gas for a minute. My releases that were scheduled for the end of the year are now coming in 2024 and I’m taking all of December and January off from touring to spend quality time with the people I love. At the end of the day that’s the most important thing and I cannot wait to spend Xmas with my baby and new year at home without flying anywhere for the first time in years!

The bonus is also that I’ve had SO much more studio time again this month, something thats been a struggle this year too. So I’ve got loadssss of new music to put out in 2024.

And I will still be around on here (with music and baby spam mostly) so I hope you all stick around for now 🙏 Much love ♥️

Not just an amazing label to work with, but they’ve been pushing boundaries and smashing down walls with every release over the last few years. JUST HAPPY: Buzzing to be back at next summer with a killer line up (plus more to be announced) - There really is no other festival like it IMO, a full week of euphoria and connection in one of the most stunning locations on the planet.

If you are considering a sunshine festival next year and you love emotional music and a community spirit then this is the one. See you in the Albanian sun. & I will most likely be the one blubbing behind the decks again 😭😂

JUST LUCKY: such a cool gig last night at for - lovely intimate vibes with the crowd all around me and amazing attention to detail across the whole space, as well as super tasty cocktails and the coolest green room I’ve ever been in 🤩

Thanks to for inviting me, I love the ethos of the brand and such a lovely team. And of course the crowd for the amazing energy, I enjoy the intimate gigs just as much as the big crowds, it’s about the vibe & energy more than anything else 🙌🏻🔥

JUST PROUD: Not gonna lie I was fully bricking it 💩 but I somehow managed to present a vaguely coherent summary of my thesis research from my masters degree at WaterBear - The College of Music to a room full of academics 😱 with the help and guidance of my lovely (and very clever) friend prof Sam Parsley from In the Key 🙏

It was part of the conference at the University of Huddersfield and was an honour to be among so many incredible minds! ❤️

Now we need to get to work on finishing the paper for publishing, watch this space 🚀

I won’t be attending ADE this year because I have the opportunity to present my Masters Thesis research at the Dancecult conference of Electronic Music Culture at Huddersfield University along with my lovely pal Prof. Sam Parsley from In the Key 🤩

We will be talking about the impact of gender, technology and audience expectations on making the transition to live performance from traditional DJing. It’s all based on my masters degree research carried out at WaterBear - The College of Music where I built a live set from the ground up and performed it in front of an audience.

Will hopefully be rolling out the live show soon, but first I’m excited for my first proper dip into the waters of academia 🤓

I’ve stayed quiet this week because I feel heartbroken by everything that’s been happening and to be honest can’t find the words (that havent already been said) or the energy to respond to comments or arguments, especially when the atmosphere on social media is so heavy.

I don’t feel comfortable sharing any music stuff right now either so thought I’d just share this slide from which resonated hard with me, then gonna take a little social media break to cuddle my wife and baby and just sit in gratitude for our safety and the fact that we have each other.

JUST PARENT: I have mega mum guilt about being away lots with such a young baby at home and managing those emotions while on tour is a big challenge.

So every Monday if I’m not away I’ve been taking the day off for a mummy day. No work, no phones, just a whole day of fun with the babe. Today was park, cinema & swimming. Hopefully it makes up for the absences ❤️‍🩹😭

Shouts to all the working/travelling mums out there - It’s a big juggle physically and emotionally.

I might be gone sometimes but I got you always kid ❤️❤️

JUST PROUD: Finally recovered from a full weekend of celebrations with the fam including a rare baby free dance with the wife 🥳😂

The community came out in force despite the storms and the atmosphere was full of love and togetherness.

As much as it’s a party, the importance of pride events can’t be understated and it still makes me emotional - our human rights are constantly under threat or being scrutinised and in some places our lives are at risk simply because of who we choose to love. If you want some evidence of why we still need these events then check out the last 2 photos which are public comments from a brighton community page that simply showed a video of the parade going ahead in the storm. Yes it hurts that my wife and I are compared to paedophiles & rapists. Yes we still need allies, support and pride events. Hopefully one day we won’t.

JUST HAPPY: Still buzzing from the vibes last Friday at with / - incredible production, amazing energy from the crowd and we got the only sunshine of the week ☀️🤩 what a day ❤️❤️

JUST VIBES: edition - Thursday 20th July, 4pm UK time on YouTube & twitch.

Anyone who was there at the cove for my set at this years will know it was an emotional one - I’d actually planned some nice chill sunset tunes, but when I arrived was kicking out some super pumping funk and disco and the vibe was off the hook!! Pure energy with some people still enjoying the beach and some already into night time party mode.

So… I threw my plan in the bin 😂 and instead I dug through my folders to play an off the cuff set of uplifting classics mixed with emotive house, trying to keep that energy going for the sunset into evening without taking it too crazy.

Well.. safe to say the crowd stayed with me on the journey & the collective energy was SO incredible (yes there were people literally dancing on the speakers) that I got completely lost in it and ended up overwhelmed with emotion and cried behind the decks at the end of my set. It’s a shame you can’t hear the crowd on the recording, but we can relive the music courtesy of the latest edition.
